Amazon Basics DisplayPort to HDMI Display Adapter Cable

This product worked perfectly for my needs. I installed a computer for a friend whose video card only had DisplayPort connections, and his monitors were HDMI only. So I plugged these adapters into the computer and plugged the HDMI cables from the monitors into these adapters. The quality of the resolution and picture are identical to a pure HDMI connection. Highly recommend!

I bought the Amazon one looking for reliable quality and I got it. I got the Amazon one after trying out another brand (LinkS) which failed me. For this Amazon one, it was very reliable. I use it on Windows 7 Professional at work. The only thing is that I can never get the display to duplicate after trying the laptop function+display change or the Windows display properties. I hope to try on Windows 10 some day assuming that I can duplicate the display.

Great product! I was frustrated with my laptop, since it did not come with an HDMI input (in 2018, who would have thought this was even a possibility?!), but then I came across this DisplayPort to HDMI. It works VERY well, regardless of media type. I am very happy with the picture and audio quality! Longevity is not an issue. One of the better products I’ve purchased on Amazon!

Works for TVs but not computer monitors. Disappointed with AmazonBasics products. Hearing bad reviews from others as well. It's a shame, Amazon is missing an opportunity to be the best.

I have a setup consisting of two HP Pavilion 27xw 27-inch IPS LED Backlit Monitors. I have both of those plugged into one Nvidia GeForce 980 TI. I had to use a Display port to HDMI adapter since the 980 TI only had one HDMI port. Monitor (A) connected through the adapter displays a washed out color compared to Monitor B, which was connected through the HDMI port. It was first noticeable when I switched my desktop background to black. I've read reviews that some of the HP monitors displayed a washed out color. To make sure that wasn't the case I swapped the adapter from Monitor A to Monitor B, and surely enough Monitor B became washed out in color compared to the now HDMI connected Monitor A. I've also tried connecting the adapter to the other display ports and have tried other HDMI cables, in case any was faulty. All came back with the same results. To take it a step further, I reconnected the cables into my second 980 TI. That ruled out any bad display ports on my first GPU. I would not recommend this for a multiple monitor setup if you are using it for gaming. For anything else it should suffice. Update - 4/3/2017 This was originally a 1 star post, but I have now changed it. Amazon sent another adapter and I am happy to say that it works fine. Since writing my original review, I purchased another exact HP monitor and also an Acer R240HY and have tried the old cable on those as well. Both with the same results: washed out color. I tested out the new adapter on all 4 monitors and they all look great. It could quite possibly be a bad adapter that I received. I would recommend this adapter or AmazonBasics DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 6 Feet for a multiple monitor setup. They both work well for gaming. I have them both connected along with an HDMI cable to 3 HP monitors in Nvidia surround, and notice no color differences.

I ordered this device because my grandaughter pulled my HDMI cable off my laptop the wrong way; I have a great picture but lost my sound. I didn't read the description well enough that this cable DOES NOT WORK ON LAPTOP USB OUT PORTS! I called AMAZON and they-graciously gave me a return label and a refund visa a store gift card.THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE REASON TO BE A PRIME MEMEBER. He instructed me to get the UPS store and that within an hour being dropped off the gift would be in my ACCOUNT and??? BAM there it was! Just make sure you want your signal to go from the DisplayPort side to the HDMI side. In my case, it was from HP laptop to HDTV, enabling client to showcase meeting materials. This cable was backup, and long behold, client forgot their own adapter, subcontractor to save the day. Pros: + Best value at $9 price point + No extra fluff Cons: - Short rigid cabling, you can't bend from left to right side of laptop, and would need to adjust meeting seating depending on cable reach from your projector. Shouldn't be a problem if you have longer flexible HDMI cabling. - White color already got a scratch mark after 1st use, oh well

Bought this back in July and it worked fine for a while until today when it died. Picture was more dim than just going through my only HDMI port and my BIOS always loaded on the screen this was attached to, rather than my main monitor. Worked okay until it died during a restart today. If you lack HDMI ports, it's probably best to look for a better adapter or get a monitor that uses display port.

Ich habe mir den Adapter für meinen Rechner gekauft, da meine Grafikkarte (Nvidia G-orce Gtx 970) bis auf 2 div. Anschlüsse nur mehr mit DP-Slots bestückt ist. Da ich einen 3. Monitor anschließen wollte kam ich um den Adapter nicht herum. Im Elektronikhandel kosten diese Stecker einen Wucherpreis den ich dafür nicht ausgeben wollte. Ich habe den Stecker an das Gerät angeschlossen und mit einem Hdmi - Kabel verbunden und schon hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Ich werde mir den Adapter noch einmal zulegen sollte ich noch einen brauchen. Update: 02/2018: Der Adapter funktioniert nach wie vor und hat bis jetzt nie Probleme verursacht.

I was looking for a Display port to HDMI and this thing works. I could make out the difference since I was using an HDMI from PC MoBo display adapter which was inferior one and I connected this adapter to my Nvidia graphics card and i could really make out the difference, Good Video quality with desired refresh rates and i could stream audio thru 5 channels and a much-improvised performance.

Mi sono decisa a comprare questo adattatore dato che lavorando ormai costantemente da casa, il mio notebook di lavoro e quello di casa non hanno lo stesso attacco per il monitor esterno, così dovevo sostituire tutti i giorni il cavo di uno e dell'altro notebook dal monitor. In questo modo il cavo è uno e uso l'adattatore, molto comodo. Non ci guardo la tv quindi non valuto la qualità del segnale (tanto il mio monitor esterno è pessimo per i colori) ma per lavorare va benissimo.
