MORrydeSTP-209 Step Above 2nd Generation RV Entry Step

I have only one minor complaint. The two lower steps are short. They do not extend back even with the front of the next step. If one does down the steps while holding onto the RV hand grip, one tends to rotate the body a bit approaching the bottom. If the right foot is too close to the step above, it can rotate off of the back of the lower step. I do not understand why the two lower steps are shorter. I will learn to be careful and live with them. In all other respects the unit is excellent.In my case I had to modify my screen and solid door to clear the upper lip of the step assembly that goes inside the RV. This was a tricky and tedious job.I also had one other issue. Knowing that my RV floor is thin, I drilled pilot holes for the rather robust screws. I drilled into a pex water line that runs under the floor about 1.5 inches inward, right under the row of screws. Of course, the next time I turned the pump on I had water running out under the RV and soon figured out what happened. I had to pull out the pex and push in new. This was a full day job. I replaced all of the screws with shorter ones so as to not run them into the new pex.

Ordered these steps to replace the original steps on our 5th wheel that were loud and unstable. We came home early from a camping trip to install before a week long vacation only to find the latch on the right side was wrong and one leg didn’t slide up and down without forcing it. We requested a replacement nine days ago and shipped the defective steps back four days ago and they still haven’t shipped the replacement. I would order the Lippert steps at this point if I was to do it all over again. Very disappointed. These are shipping direct from Moryde so there is no excuse just bad service.
