Returning to the universe of TNT's hit movie franchise, The Librarian, this new series centers on an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. This group solves impossible mysteries, fights supernatural threats and recovers powerful artifacts, including the Ark of the Covenant, the Spear of Destiny and Excalibur.

Fun and entertaining
This is a review of the first season. A bit uneven sometimes, being silly sometimes and annoying other times. A nice play off of whimsy and suspense. The Ezekiel Jones character seems to be put in for some comic relief. It was really funny in the episode where when each character handled the artifact, it brought out the evil in them except for Ezekiel, as he didnโt change. And nice seeing some of the actors of the time the series was made who no longer appear very often, if at all. Each episode dealt with an aspect of magic and woven quite well. With fairy tales, myths and fables. And most importantly, it seems like the actors were having fun. And that helps sell the series.

A Great Team, Good Characters. Happy To see The Librarian Again
I loved the original Librarian movies and was really pleased to find this continuation series., and with Noah Wyle still playing main Librarian. Good intro there. Iโm enjoying the subtle build of suspense from episode to episode. Happy to see John Larroquette in his character position, And Matt Fewer and Bob Newhart andโฆ all the other โoldie but goodie actors who we all love so much. The whole new team of Librarians are perfect as supporting actors.Episode 7 was a turning point for me as it brings in a more well known level of mystic and mathematical/science magic. Episode 8 was pretty intense, and am glad to see it ended like I thought it might, setting stage for a continuation of that story line.Iโve been thinking about looking for the The Librarian for a couple of weeks, and when this showed up in my feed, I was on it. Purchased the set of the first movies, and am getting to know the characters here until it gets here. I donโt like to give spoilers, so, just saying, itโs a well done and worthwhile series

Fine skits, but Ads are too many and not to relavent.
There are so many Ads and so many times the story lines are broken that it becomes useless to view. This earns a solid 3 stars.

any one who has issues with the librarians series ... is not worthy of speaking on any issue ... for they are dumb
librarians the movies and series is a must see for mythologys and goofie moments of brainless entertainment . if you have half the mental energy of a stone , you will not like librarians ... and frankly speaking , you will not have the skill to type words so that nothing you think will effect anything of importants any way. it needs to be said that the production schedule of the librarians series makes it nearly imposable to do high quality episoads ... so how they manage to push them out the door as quickly as they do is remarkable ...the writing is well done , above what one might suspect for the speed of product , the acting and direction is quite good and hails to the days of three net work sit com's , the story ideas are both formula and delightful .the soul of what i am saying is that ' any one who has issues with the librarians series ... is not worthy of speaking on any issue ... for they have already shown themselves to be untrustworthy . I absolutely love this series - lighthearted
I absolutely love this series - lighthearted, fun, no brain power involved - completely five stars. However, I agree with the other reviewers that it is a shame about the actual DVDs. The packaging is fine, but the order of the episodes is... unique. For those of you who want to watch these in the actual order they should have appeared, the disc and episode numbers follow. Good luck! Disc One has (in order) episodes 1, 2, 6; Disc Two has episodes 3, 8, 7; Disc Three has episodes 4 and 9; Disc Four has episodes 5 and 10. I love extras, so it would have been nice to have some, but at least I have the episodes on DVD now!

A great Series. Pity about the DVD
I purchased the DVD in expectation of getting the complete season as shown on Syfy. Unfortunately the DVD's disk menu's and episodes are out of sync. Episode 3 should have been the Minotaur(Horns of a Dilemma) instead we got the Fables of Doom after that the episodes jump around with no apparent order. There are only 3 episodes that match the disk titles the first two and the last. And what's with calling it the FIRST Season? Syfy didn't change seasons to the SECOND season until after the 'And the Final Curtain' which was episode 20 or something like that. As it is the set is only the first TEN episodes of season one.

Nothing to recommend it
I agree with the reviewer who referred to this series as Drivel, although unlike that reviewer I would not call it addictive. The concept, although touted as a spin off from the Librarian films is just a poor man's Warehouse 13. Acting so poor it becomes a distraction, particularly from John Kim (must have been a quiet day at the auditions when he got the part).Put this together about other reviewers 'comments about the episodes being out of order and the bare-bones nature of the disc, it really is a waste of money

but strangely addicting towatch. No brainpower involved
Total and utter drivel, but strangely addicting to watch. No brainpower involved. For example, not having seen the series on TV, I wasn't aware that the episodes were out of order. No matter. They got the first and last in the right places, and the intervening stuff - well, don't sweat it. :)One star off because this is a barebones DVD set, without subtitles or any extras. Were it not for the very official-looking case, I'd think I'd bought a pirated copy or something.

Disappointing episode order.
I love this show so was really looking forward to watching it again on dvd. Though I was not disappointed with the programe I was very much disappointed with the dvd's. Instead of the episodes running in order as you would accept it ran out of order. Very annoying as you have to change discs to keep up with the story line. I hope this will not happen again when season 2 is released.
