mismatched box joints require WAY too much work, even with my full complement of woodworking tools.If you plan to coat it with paper mache, you could cover the joint problems, but then that defeats the purpose of the Clayboard top.Even if you're just doing crafts or folk art, this is not a bargain. You can make a box far better and cheaper and it doesn't take much skill or tooling.

This is an interesting kit. You can paint or stain the wood, decorate the box inside and on top. The gesso surface on the top of the box can be used with oil, pencil, acrylic, fabric & collage items. Makes a one if a kind unique gift and allows for a lot of options. I would recommend this item to mixed media artists, painters & serious crafters.
