Excellent DIY Tint!
We have a very old home (1950s) which also means single pain windows on the gulf coast. It is either extremely hot or very cold and you feel it all through those windows. Before applying this product we had a thermometer by the windows, 90-100 degrees. After applying, immediately down to 70ish. The product was really simply to apply and looks great. Our cats appreciate it as well!

Great product. Heat reduction and privacy.
I purchased this product to cut down on the afternoon sun and heat from these West facing windows. I could tell a difference in the temperature of the room almost immediately. The application process was extremely easy. Soaking the glass and the film during installation with the soap solution was key to a smooth application. Be sure to order enough... I was short a few windows on the other side of the room.. you will want to measure an additional 2 inches on each side of your measurements, to give room for excess to trim properly. Watch the video. It’s helpful. Also,It is time consuming. If you clean all of your windows and pre-cut your film before you start the job, it is a lot faster.

So far so good
We live in a condo complex with lots of common areas. Our backyard is one of them. We had very little privacy, other than the metal fence we installed, so we wanted to tint our windows. We also live in the Phoenix, Arizona area where it gets SUPER HOT in the summertime. Anything we can do to minimize heat getting into our home is well worth the expense because it saves us money on our electric bills. So far, we're very happy with this film. We can see out just fine. The film does not distort our view at all like we experienced with cheaper film in the past. It actually enhances the view, I think. Also, it makes our room MUCH darker (we used the darkest color) during the day. And, although it's not real hot in Arizona yet this year, we can tell that it is definitely going to help come summertime.Installing this on our extra wide sliding glass doors was easier on the second one than the first. We must not have used enough water on the first try because we ended up with wrinkles and some bubbles. Kind of disappointing since that is the side that we go in and out of. After putting it off for about a month, we finally did the other side this past weekend. We used TONS (!!!) of water this time (I'm pretty sure we emptied a 12 oz spray bottle at least twice!). Also, it was very windy the day we did the second side, so we couldn't lay it out on a rug outside to cut it to length like we did the first time. Because our condo is so small, we didn't have room to roll it out inside, so we just left it on the roll and cut the length off once we had most of the bubbles out of it. That worked fine for us. The second side looks nearly PERFECT!I highly recommend watching the instructional videos here on Amazon... they really DO help. And, start with that T (across the top, then down the middle) that they recommend. That makes application so much easier. And, since we didn't cut it to length and it was coming right off the roll (the second time), we peeled the clear liner piece off as we smoothed it out (instead of removing the entire clear liner like we did the first time). That allowed us to pull any potential wrinkles out without compromising the entire piece. Just TAKE YOUR TIME, take deep breaths, use LOTS OF WATER, and you'll do fine.We highly recommend this window film.

Works great
If you want DARK windows then this is the film to get. Works amazingly well at blocking heat and light (in Florida so no it an easy feat), not terrible to install when you get the hang of it but most of the window films are the same in my experience. We have purchased several rolls of this, it’s the best one I’ve found so far.

Delivers as promised!
This film is great! If you follow the directions closely, watch the installation video(s), and take your time, it will turn out really well. It helps to have two people, but I can see how one person could easily do it on smaller windows. Definitely use more soapy water than you think. It was dripping down my window onto the sill and off of the film itself (after pealing the backing), but I believe that was key—having an enormous amount of liquid.Definitely happy with the product. Really darkens the room without complete blackout and helps with the temperature for sure. Even in Phoenix heat!

I expect great things
We JUST put up one half of our slider - husband put it up alone fairly easily. As the sun was streaming in and he called to tell me he did it, he said how cool it still felt in front of the side with the film on vs how hot the sun was coming in on the side not yet completed.I’m hoping this helps a lot with keeping our apartment cooler during the summer and we won’t have to run the AC quite so much. You can see in the photo what a difference it makes, and you can’t see in from outside anymore. Will hopefully update after a few months and see what happens during the hot weather

Texas Summer Helper
I bought this last week after reading other good reviews. It was fairly easy to put up, especially after the first window. I immediately noticed a difference with even half the window done. Is it a home run, no, but it makes a difference and you still get light in, and the outside provides full privacy. With Texas afternoons reaching over 100 degrees day after day, this has been a good find.It comes with a small exacto knife, but I suggest using a new razor blade that is super sharp. The one it comes with gets dull quick and can cause some minor cosmetic jags on the edges here and there.
