Hammer Black Widow Legend Bowling Ball

I haven't bowled seriously, that is, on a league or with any frequency in quite some time.I started bowling again with a rather old urethane bowling ball. I had the same problem with it that I've always had. If the lanes were oily, my weak spin would not catch before the ball hit the pins. It even seems that the newer alleys with synthetic lanes use even more oil and no matter how much I tried to slow down my release, the ball would not grab.I did a lot of reading about the bowling balls available on Amazon and when I read that this ball was designed for medium to heavily oiled lanes, I knew this was the one for me.This ball has changed my weak curve into something wicked! I can throw from all the way of the right side of the alley and it hooks like I am a pro, even right after they oil the lanes! For me, it's been a miraculous transition. After many games, I still cannot believe how this ball hooks even with my weak spin.

Love the performance of this ball. Comes with various drilling patterns for the bowling style and lane type you often bowl on..but which ever way you drill it, it'll be versatile enough for you to adjust to most lane conditions.

1) Understand that if you are looking for a big backend move, you need to have a pin placement of 3-4" this add fails to say what the pin placement is, the one I received was 1" which is a mild backend (all things equal) I was looking for a lot more.2) With the pin placement of 1", I will say I get a smooth backend even on heavy oil - I find that I don't have to make a lot of adjustments during 3 game league play, so seems to be fairly consistent for me as oil breaks down (I do you a different ball for spares, although probably don't need to)3) I have not bowled for 40 years and got back into it 4 months ago, started with an league average of 167 right from the start (I did bolt 1 month prior to joining the league) After bowling 10 practice games with this ball and averaging 195 over the 10 games, I bowled 3 games in league play and rolled a 591 (easily would have had 600 series but missed a 1 pin spare in the 10th)I would say this is an excellent ball, overall and feel I will easily average over 200 ASAP with is It rolls very consistent in heavy, medium or dry lanes and leaves VERY few splits. I purchased the 16 lb ball and roll it 16.5 MPH on average. I have no negative comments about this ball, it is absolutely fantastic!

Literally improved my average in my first 3 games. My average was 169. My first 3 games in order are 179, 197, and 220. My 2nd games are always my worst games and I've never gone up before like this. Truly an excellent ball and btw there was no practice with this ball. Went right into league bowling which is very scary. Highly recommend this ball because my experience was awesome!

Dont know the material used to make this ball, a lot different from my other bowling balls...scuffed up really easy and left permanent marks after one game..It does have a lot of back end power as advertised, however, the ball is cheaply made..

The ball does not hook well at all as expected. It is being released correctly each and every time on medium to well oiled lanes in both houses that I bowl at. Thus far, after rolling 6 games the bowl has received 3 long scratches to its cover stock. I’m certainly not happy with its core values as stressed by the manufacturer and other reviews which have been inconsistent with true reviews as expressed.

I am elated! I've had other balls that claimed to react but didn't produce for me. I haven't used a ball like this since the Paradygm. The grab is tight and the flow is awesome

Needed a ball with a strong finish to decrease leaving ten pins. I was lucky to find the legend, since they no longer make this ball. My average has gone up 21 pins since this purchase! Awesome ball with lots of carry on all pocket hits. One piece of advice. Do not buy this ball unless you’re comfortable with the maintenance that it takes to keep the oil from penetrating this porous cover stock. After the first 30 games, my ball wasn’t hooking aggressively as when it was new. I had to do a vigorous cleaning to get the hook back. I now clean it after each set and wipe it down after each throw. Overall, I am very pleased with the ball’s performance!
