WMF Profi Plus 15-Inch Stainless Steel Wire Skimmer/Ladle

I ordered this type of wire skimmer (without the mesh) because I saw it used to make Irish lamb stew on YouTube. I thought, "What a great way to pull out your meat and vegetables and leave the gravy in the pot." All the skimmers I have take in a lot of gravy with the meat and veggies and I wind up having to drain it again. I've seen the cheap Asian skimmers with the bamboo handles and flimsy baskets and I also saw the similar RÖSLE wire skimmer in an expensive kitchen store for over $40. The WMF Wire Skimmer is very well made and nicely engineered. It's half the price and the quality is the same. A great deal for a great product.

Love this tool! Great for pulling homemade noodles, dumplings, and pierogi from a boiling pot. Beats dumping the pot of boiling water into a colander. Plus no more waiting for the new pot of water to boil. Just add more water to the kettle and keep on cooking. Saves a lot of time.I'm going to buy one for my sister-in-law.

I wish the handle was a little longer, and the ladle a little bigger, but it is a very nicely built ladle. I use it for pulling munchies (wings, poppers, etc) out of my deep fryer. Good looks, good construction.

I'm from germany, so I know the WMF name brand stands for quality. So I had no qualms ordering this product from Amazon. It works great for the Fry-daddy - my husband is actually the one using it, and he is thrilled!Another great product from WMF. I am getting the soup ladle now, can't wait! The price is probably better than in Germany too!

This is light enough to dip a lot of food and the handle is long enough to keep you safe while doing that.

This skimmer/ladle is made very well and is the perfect size for scooping out fries from my new deep fryer that I purchased through Amazon.com. The handle is long, which is great. It allows me to scoop out the food without getting my hand too close to the hot oil. I would highly recommend this product.

When I want to dip food out of grease or hot water this is the perfect skimmer for me. There are times when a mesh strainer will not do because too much grease or water clings to the tool and the food. This one drains most of the liquid away instantly.

The size between the holes is too large to scoop out pasta from the boiling water and the bowl of the ladle is too small to snatch up more than one or two chunks of vegetable. I replaced with the WMF spider skimmer/ladle. That was the tool I needed, not this one.
