works great, potentially risky for expensive devices
The adapter works great, no complaints there. I'm leaving a review because after I saw this recommended for steam decks and buying them, I learned about USB-C standards and that this adapter doesn't meet them (pretty expected from something cheap I guess), so if you use this to connect your device to a charger, there's a *potential* risk of it not grounding properly and frying the device. You may not mind (and I'm not necessarily saying you should), but I do think its worth knowing the risk exists. fwiw I used it for a few months without issue and eventually stopped just for my own peace of mind

Saves charging ports!
These are great! I feel not cheap, but they work so well and fast charge; so I broke down and bought for all of our vehicles and in home. No more lose phone connectors from kids accidental tugging; now the magnet just falls off if they try walking away without unplugging, so probably save in phone repairs too. That said, the magnet is strong and can use while connected, it just prevents damages to charging port.

As advertised, high quality, not ugly!
Works as advertised, high quality, and one of the few brands that do not put ugly pointless emblems and branding on their adapters! You get a lightning bolt and some USB stat depending on the model/revision, very neat, sturdy, and professional looking design. Besides the visual appeal this product works very well and as advertised. I use this in-line with a hub that is hooked up to a Ethernet, USB Webcam, 4K 60hz display, and a MacBook power adapter. All of this makes it through the magnetic adapter with no problems. and makes it very easy for me to connect and disconnect my device without concern for the port. This works for all my devices I have tested; MacBook, HP Ultrabook, Android phones/handhelds, etc. This product will probably support a higher spec than most of your devices and I love that. It just means everything will most likely work but you will probably need the right hardware to really push it to it's limit and see the full potential. Please know that your device must support the advertised capabilities in order to use them such as 40Gbps transfer, 4K output, etc.

Honestly changed my life.
These were the first magnetic chargers I bought, but when the cables went bad on my old ones it was ass to replace them. Putting these on the end of a normal cable means when they do wear out I can just buy the magnet bits. The best part of these is full USBC conductors for highspeed charging and data. I do have 2 ISSUES. The little card edge connector is fragile (it's tiny to be able to work, but it's also exposed) and the reason I broke it was because the magnet picked up some rust at some point and it's impossible to get it out with how high the aluminum walls are. Magnet chargers have always had their weaknesses like anything else, but it's well worth the fact I can get in my car and single handedly start android auto without setting down my cigarette.

Work great with correct expectations
I've had these since June 2023, so well over a year and a half. Extremely happy with them. I haven't had to replace any of them and they support full USB 3 speeds between my phone and computer. There are certainly times when the connection wasn't reliable, but this is simply the nature of having exposed pins and magnets. Once in a while you'll have to blow some dust out, pick some random metal out, or unplug and plug it back in to clean the contacts. Very slim adapters so they don't interfere with phone cases. I'm back to buy some more and a bunch of the receivers since more and more devices are coming with USB C

Works really well! - but too delicate.
May seem trivial, but this adds a level of convenience I never imagined. I also don't feel too confident about plugging and unplugging the USB-C connector in my laptop all the time (I move it around several times a day) so this device is perfect. UPDATE - 6 months later, the connector pins broke, rendering it useless. See photo. The central 'pillar' that supports the pins seems to be very delicate. I still think it's a great idea, and will replace it, but - not sure how long they will last. In the photo, you can see that the left side of the black plastic pillar has collapsed, and the pins are unsupported. One pin is loose and stuck to the magnet, far left. UPDATE - 8 months later, another one has broken (2nd photo attached). I bought a total of 6, so with the remaining 4 I'm going to be ultra careful with them - pulling straight off, placing straight on, not letting the magnet 'grab' the connectors. We will see if that helps prolong their life. Basically, they need to be made of stronger materials, OR, be longer/deeper to allow for mechanical alignment to ensure the pins don't suffer any sideways stress.

A great little adapter.
I bought these to reduce the wear on the port of my work laptop. My monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc... are al connected via USB-C. I am constantly moving in and out of my office and I got worried about wearing the port out on the machine. I was also looking for some much more serious convenience. This gave me the convenience without question. It just clicked right on. The magnet is strong but not insanely so. So for me the bottom line is that it comes off when I want it too but not when I don't. Both of my monitors on my desk work perfectly with the magnetic adapter in place. Mouse/keyboard/peripherals etc... I am not using to transfer data like with an external drive or anything like that. But the day to day data needs for monitors, camera, etc. is all working extremely well. I have actually purchase 2 sets of these. One set with the 90 degree bend in the adapter and one set with the straight out. Depending on where I am the different sets are very nice. At my desk the orientation that worked better was the straight connector. When I am in a conference room or traveling I found that the bent adapter is better as it keeps the cables in closer. I generally do not charge via USB. My laptop has a specialized connector for charging and because I have a couple of those charger it is easier just to use them. But I will be trying it out. I don't expect to have any problems or slow charging but if I should then I will update this review. To help prove this all out I purchased an Anker 120w portable charger that had 4 USB-C ports. With it not charging but just running the KVM setup for the machine the adapter doesn't get either warm or hot. It is at ambient temperature. So not problems there either. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Enough so that I am going to be trying these in my cell phone as well. Which should tell me a lot more about data and charging rates.

Classic too-good-to-be-true. Serious risk of frying your laptop
This has none of the ground-first data-last connection order priorities enforced by the USB-C standard. Glad I didn't fry anything! Classic "too good to be true". This would cause my laptop to reboot everytime I plugged it in, due to some sort of electrical fault or ESD problem. There are online reports of motherboard failures from this type of product. Glad I dodged a bullet!
