Ending Hunger: The quest to feed the world without destroying it

A balanced and well researched argument
So many books on this sort of topic are incredibly biased (vegan vs. low-carb) and/or contain incorrect nutritional statements or just state all sorts of research as if facts have been proven (in science you provide evidence - proof is for maths). This is well written, acknowledges the nuances in research in the area, and critically appraises the evidence for both sides of the argument. It's not necessarily an easy read but makes some excellent points and suggestions for how things might be improved.

How To Feed the World
This is an important book and a provocative one. With a global popula of over 7 billion and growing despite the pandemic the shortage of food is becoming more and more serious. Known as the angry chef, Warner savages this shortage. He argues for a fundamental change in the current system . He attacks the anti GMO people, organic farmers and buying local. Only GM food production and a cut in meat consumption can, he argues, enable us to feed the world. He is scathing about free range hens . At times his reasoned criticisms merge into bias. Warner supports ready meals as these he claims reduce waste. His main criticism is reserved for the world food supply system and the failure to regulate it. This is an angry book that unfortunately allows the author's genuine concerns to unbalance his important thesis.

The best book I've read this decade.
I think every human being alive today should read this book. I hope it has the impact it deserves in the world. I plan on buying a copy for every Christmas gift this year.

Page turner!
Omg! I love this. This book is ambitious in scope. I have annotated on each and every page because this made me engage with it so much actively. If you want to know about the food problem, from the green revolution, to the use of gmos to organic food, to ecological problem and what not, just pick this one up. I don't know why no one is talking about this book. It's a must read and a page turner!

A Wonderful Book
A truly wonderful read - full of startling, confronting information - yet, full of hope. I am hoping it will force me to change my own eating habits.
