I don't know the exact thickness, but I bought it because what I was getting was too thick and this was a bit thinner. I use it for chocolate and it works great. Great price too.

Q: Is this thick enough to cut and make a stencil?

Yes. Durable Acetate at up to 5 mils is conveniently the thickest grade recommended for easy cutting a stencil by hand with exacto knife & is quit durable. Can go as low as 3mils, not thinner or it likes to break. 7 mils is not something I recommend if superb flexibility is required & is a bit harder to cut if not by machine. Pvc sheets at 7 mils are softer & flexible also but still not as strong.

Q: Can this be used to make stencils?

No these sheets are thin. I have bought thicker acetate sheets before but not sure if it would work for stencils.
