Is the black bag mini or is it big like a regular backpack?

I wouldn't say it's like a regular backpack but I can say it's not mini nor small it's a regular size. very roomie. very nice

I'm blind, so pics don't help me. How're the black and butterfly versions of this bag different than the others? The description says 2 front pockets.

That I'm aware of, there aren't no front pockets, there are to zippers in the front of the bag that help extend space in the bag. The bag is a lot smaller than expected, but non the less cute. It is a bit cheap, when I first got it the handle to one of the zippers fell off and it was a mission to put it back. Hipe my ans helps.

would i be able to fit an ipad air 2 with a case on it in the bag

I would say no bc my iPad mini 2 just barely makes it. But fits in there perfectly, any bigger and the top wouldn't close. Hope this helps.

Is this backpack good for school?

You may be able to fit in a couple spiral notebooks or maybe one small textbook. I don't think it would be good to use as a full-on backpack.
