AVEDA Scalp Remedy Dandruff Solution, 4.2 Oz, ()

I've been plagued by a sensitive, itchy, flaking scalp all my life due to my thick hair and oily scalp. I've tried vinegar rinses, lemon juice, olive oil, not washing my hair every day, washing it every day vigorously, and various products with little or no success. This is the only thing that's ever worked and made a noticeable difference. I either flip my head upside down and give it 2-3 sprays and massage it in or spray it into my hand and massage in with my fingers. You have to be careful to get just the right amount evenly spread or it will look oily. You will pretty much need to wash your hair everyday or use an effective dry shampoo to keep this stuff from making your hair oily. The fragrance is best described as oregano and not strong once it sets in. Doesn't bother my sensitive lungs or scalp and it's not an unpleasant smell if you like spices. I have to apply it once during the day and once at night to keep it working. If you're like me this will NOT cure your scalp long term, but continual use will cure it for each day you use it. All in all I'm very pleased with it and so happy to finally have something to stop the itching and flaking, no matter how temporary.

I developed very dry, itchy and flaking scalp. In the past, I've had rare instances of dandruff that were quickly dispatched with a short course of dandruff shampoo. But not this time. For whatever reason, this dandruff (or whatever it is) has been resistant to absolutely every type of dandruff product. My hair stylist recommended this product and it is fantastic.This is a very nice, lightly scented (appropriate for women or men) spray on, leave in scalp treatment. I use it after my shower. A few sprays close to my scalp followed by a quick scalp "massage" to evenly distribute and I'm done. It instantly calms my irritated scalp and has reduced flaking and itching by at least 90%. Highly recommend.

I purchased this product to help control dandruff in my teenage son's hair. We tried various dandruff shampoos, but none were effective at curbing the visible dandruff flakes. The Aveda solution was effective at decreasing the itching and flakes, but they aren't gone completely. We've used 2 bottles of this solution so far and will continue using it since it seems to help. Bottom line: There is a noticeable improvement, but some flakes still accumulate on his shoulders after a while.

Love the smell. The solution takes care of dandruff problems and was really easy to use.

Aveda used to make a scalp remedy that would heal my scalp within a day of using it. They stopped making it about 10 years ago. This product is watery and burns the scalp as you spray. Doesn't seem to do much. After using it for three or four times I haven't seen any difference. Definitely not worth the price.

I used it for two days when I first got it. The flakiness that I was never able to get rid of has gone away. I'm guessing it will last about a week, so I'll re-apply every three or four days. My scalp is perpetually flaky because of my thick hair. This is very useful.It isn't what I thought I was buying, though. I wanted to buy the oil that was used at an aveda spa for a scalp cleansing massage.

I was recommended this product by my hairdresser and when it arrived, I reached my hand in and it was everywhere. When I selected “Return or Replace” this item isn’t eligible for return. Be mindful when buying because $32 for a 4oz product that probably has 2oz left in it by the time it arrived isn’t worth it. 😑
