I laughed, I cried, and I learned so much!
My 10 year old son borrowed this graphic novel from the school library last week and read it 5 times. He was reading it again in bed this morning so I asked to keep it home so I could read it over coffee. Y’all!!! Please go get this book. I cried, I laughed, and I learned SO much. This story beautifully explains the important jobs bee have and also speaks about change in such a graceful way that I think we all can benefit from it at one point in our lives. I can see why my son loved it! It is now a favorite of mine as well. The author does an amazing job engaging the reader, sharing amazing facts, and making learning fun. I’ve already purchased a copy for the home and this book will be the birthday gift of the year. Now off to purchase his other books!

caveat emptor
This is just the hard back/ color edition of "Apis."I thought it would be a different story because of the *different title.* One star deleted because of that! The book is a 5 star book to be sure, but still, a book I wouldn't have bought TWICE as we already owned APIS.caveat emptor.

I cannot say enough great things about this book!!
This graphic novel is wonderful! It is engaging and so informative. My 9 year old and I were both totally hooked. It would be an amazing resource to build a project unit around. There is so much in the book: origin of the universe/world/life mythology, maths, a ton of biology, circle of life, and so much about bees (of course)! I could see this being great for middle school and high schoolers. Highly recommended!

Informative, Moving, Extraordinary
I can't say enough about this extraordinary book. Bought it for my bee-hating, bee-phobic 11 year old and by the end of the book, a space had opened in her heart to feel kindness and gentleness toward them. This book presents science info in a highly readable, character-driven form with brilliant illustrations. A keeper and a great book for gifting as well.
