Great sit/stand option!!
Thanks to sciatica, I had to start looking into standing options for my work desk. I have only 1 large monitor and keyboard and mouse. The two laptops and docking station do not fit on this riser but that is ok I just put them off to the side. The riser comes in one piece so no assembly. It is about 50 pounds and sturdy! Took two people to bring it upstairs. Worst part was clearing off my desk to put the riser on it. The mechanism is easy to use and locks in place at chosen positions. Easy to unlock to lie flat if you need to sit. It does rise up and towards you but I did not find that a problem at all as I have a decent sized office in my home. I recommend this riser and would buy it again if needed

Fantastic Product - Sturdy, Easy to Change Height and Great Value for Money
The pandemic was causing me to be chained sitting down at my desk all day which is very unhealthy. I did not want to replace my office desk with a stand up desk and researched the different on-desk products. This one was slightly more expensive than alternatives, but the easy spring loaded height mechanism was appreciated by reviewers so I selected it. I have been extremely pleased with this purchase. The size (smaller of the alternatives so it fits nicely on my smaller desk) was perfect for the corner positioning on my office desk and when fully retracted, does not increase the desk height more than a couple of inches. When fully extended, it is perfect for my height (I am 6-foot tall). Because it is so easy to pull up and down with the spring counterbalance to the monitor and other accessories, I can put it up and down several times a day depending on how often I want to sit or stand. It comes ready assembled, but it is sturdy (25 pounds weight), so two people are really needed to unpack it and place it on the desk. Great buy and I've recommended it to desk bound remote working colleagues. See up and down pictures.

Perfect Work Accessory
I am thrilled with this desk. I had been looking at several options on Amazon and wasn't completely sold on any of them but had narrowed my search to 1 or 2. Then a good friend of mine encouraged me to look into a VariDesk. She has one and loves it. The price and the features were in line with what I was looking for so I ordered one. It is well made, sturdy, and even better that there is nothing to put together. It comes fully assembled.....just take out of the box and place on your fixed desk or table. It's easy to elevate or put down to a sitting height. I have two 17" monitors and my speakers. Still lots of room for my paperwork without feeling cramped. Cannot find or think of anything I would change. I love it so much and have spoken so highly of it, my coworker ordered the same desk and he loves it also.

Best tool I own
It's officially been about a year since I got this riser. It's easy to use and not incredibly clunky. I've been able to keep it clean, and it has no scratches. It's great for the cost, and it can quickly maneuver up and down to a pretty high level. All you have to do is listen for the click, and you know it won't wobble. It's heavy, so it does take some effort to move it, but it's still going strong!

Came fully assembled, easy operation
This Vari standing desk converter came fully assembled. I just placed it (it is heavy, mind you) on my desk and it is fully functional right off the box. It is very easy to adjust the height of standing desk up or down. The unit is very stable even at its highest position. The upper deck for the monitor is about 4 inches high, which, although a little higher than my liking, isn't too bad. The lower deck/tray for key board extends to the full width of the converter thus provides ample space to work. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Moves the body position but doesn't solve monitor height issue.
This is a very sturdy desk, no issue there. Moves relatively easy. Has two paddle tabs on either side you grab to unlock and lift or unlock and lower. The desk overall is heavy, so it may take two to put on desk surface, but the assist springs help when raising and lowering. Problem is like most adjustable desks or desk converters in that when you change from sitting to standing position your distance from the monitors changes and so does the eye height to monitor height relationship. I have dual monitors. I placed them on the top surface of the desk in the position I needed them in seating position. I then went to stand and found them too close and too low. I changed them to higher and further back to fit for standing, but then when I lowered they were too high and to far back. UGH! This is a known issue with adjustable desks, but I was really hoping to believe those that say it's not that bad when I purchased the desk. For me it was bad. Unusable bad. I also found the mouse area to be just a little too small. If you use a track ball you will be fine. A regular mouse runs out of space. You will be lifting and moving. Not good for me as my work requires a lot of mouse movement. Loved the desk up and down concept so off to find solutions. I considered all kinds of monitor mounts to add and finally settled on the Ergotron Trace dual monitor mount - once I recovered from choking on the price. It works perfect - for the cost it better. (FYI, the included mount will not work on the VariDesk, you need the grommet or slim profile mount - additional cost of course). The Trace mount allows the monitors to move both up and down and back and forth. Exactly what was need to be able to adjust the monitor position as well as desk height. For the mouse issue, I purchased a square VIVO Desk Clamp Adjustable Mouse Pad. It just fits when clamped to the outer edge of the upper portion of the desk and hovers about 1/16" above the lower mouse area wing surface giving more mouse area and the ability to swing. The swing is important because it needs to swing out when lowering the desk to miss the base. The VariDesk Essential is a good start, but like most adjustable desks, it really needs an adjustable monitor stand to fully be beneficial. And a bigger mouse area would help too. Don't forget a wireless keyboard with adjustable desks. The less wires the better.
