Q: Is the orange top made from plastic? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of stainless steal?

Yes, the orange part is made out of plastic. I just like the idea that the drink itself is not sitting in plastic, it's not making contact with it, either. The drink then goes through the silicone straw.

Q: Are these exactly like the plastic ones but stainless? No leaks etc?

No. I was so disappointed in this cup. I LOVE the plastic ones and so do my kids. But the stainless steel ones are absolutely terrible. They leak w the slightest tilt... I've had to clean my diaper bag, stroller etc multiple times and finally just suck it in the back of my kitchen cabinet.

Q: does it leak when lying down to drink ? my son refuse to sit up to drink his milk . i hope to find a straw bottle tat can satisfy him .thanks

I don't think he would be able to drink from it lying down. It's a straw cup so it draws the liquid from the bottom. Sorry!
