It definitely works!
I have a tank on the covered patio to give our red eared slider some vacation times. To avoid breeding mosquitoes I added a few gambusia fish to join the fun. In spring, the water turned green from algae. I couldn't see the fish!I came across this unit. I know UV and its use in tanks and thought this might be it.First I got an, I think used unit (slightly cracked top and broken rotor) which I had replaced.Then the miracle happened with the new unit. After 2 days, the tiny fish became visible, and now after a few days, the water is almost totally clear!I thank the reviewers and the beautiful souls who helped me answer my questions when I tried to work with my first broken unit. This unit really works!

This UV Sterilizer had my cloudy aquarium Clear the Next day.40gal Breeder with a small flowerhorn fish.I would Definitely recommend it for cloudiness. I don't know about diseases etc.
