Horlicks! Just the way I remember it ...
I grew up in India, and this was a daily drink for me. I don't know if the nutritional benefits are worth it or not, but this tastes exactly like the Horlicks in India. This is made is the UK though, and I believe the Brits introduced it to India. I haven't seen nutritional drinks like Bournvita, Complan or Horlicks much in the USA. I have seen the ones imported from India in Indian grocery stores, but I never got hem because I never find the expiry dates on them. I ordered this from amazon (300g jar) for about $7 and it tastes exactly like the indian version I used to drink in India as a child. I also recently found this in an Indian grocery store (this exact UK made horlicks, not the Indian made one), and the 500g jar cost only $5.49, so maybe check out your local Indian grocery store if you have one nearby before you order online...

Great Taste
This is a great tasting hot drink. It is not chocolate base like Milo or ovaltine. When added to milk the color of the milk barely changes. It gives the milk a smooth texture and a creamy taste. I mix 2 tbs with warm milk, sometimes I use sugar and sometime I don't. Without sugar added it still has a good taste. The only thing is the 300g container is very small I was expecting something a little bigger for $10. If I knew 300g was so small in size I would have order the larger size. Here is the Nutritional fact base on 1 serving 25g Calories 189 Sodium 1 mg Total Fat 4 g Potassium 0 mg Saturated 3 g Total Carbs 27 g Polyunsaturated 0 g Dietary Fiber 0 g Monounsaturated 0 g Sugars 19 g Trans 0 g Protein 10 g Cholesterol 0 mg Vitamin A 36% Calcium 88% Vitamin C 28% Iron 19%

Delicious (and sleep-inducing)
This is the real stuff: nothing like the fakey "80% sugar, 20% malt extract" malt powder available in the US. It's delicious when added to hot milk, a milkshake, or other desserts. It's very comforting and the first time I tried it, I fell asleep for 3 hours in the middle of the evening, so there must be something to the 'helps you sleep' hype! I made a vanilla milkshake recently with this and it was a wonderful addition. When added to hot milk, I usually add a teaspoon or so of sugar to sweeten it slightly. My only suggestion is to get a larger amount if you plan on using it often: I decided on this instead of the two-pack of 500g jars for price reasons, but I didn't realize it would require a tablespoon per cup, and much more for milkshakes.

Different night time drink
I'm glad I tried it. I had seen it on a British tv show and thought it would be interesting to try. I tried it once and did not finish the cup because it got cold. Thought would give it a second chance and tried again. It does not taste bad, but I didn't finish that cup either. My friend tried it and she enjoyed it. I thought of putting some chocolate in it, but ended up giving it away to someone with British friends. It is kind of like warm milk with some texture. You might like it. All a matter of personal taste.

Favorite Bedtime Drink
My husband loves this as a warm bedtime drink may use more than what the directions say but he loves it and thinks it helps him sleep. Full disclosure .He is a transplanted Brit. Now Canadian for over 50 years.
