So, they're not black, but if you read the item description, it clearly states they're graphite coloured, and what a lovely grey they are! They dry quickly, don't smudge when I use them with watercolour, and they're more ergonomic to hold than most fineliners. Can't go wrong with a Derwent product!

Not a bad product, but I expected it to be slightly darker. It looks more like pencil than graphite. It is waterproof and quick drying.

1 of the pens did not work at all, the other writes very faintly and very inconsistent flow. Not smooth to write or draw with really maybe I just got a bad batch since I have tried this brand and was usually good.
