Poor Design Dysfunctional
This product is very simply poorly designed. 1. It does not hold onto your sunglasses with any grip, just slides off. 2. It is bulky and is not easy to put your glasses on or take them off. 3. It does not allow glasses to hang around your neck comfortably. 4. It is not adjustable to tighten or loosen the fit while wearing your glasses. Never tested buoyancy as this product never made it to the next step of ever even wearing it. I am really shocked that this product is so poorly designed as a sunglass retention floatation device by Chums.

They don’t work. Skip the purchase
I bought these for a fishing trip. Figured I’d try to prevent losing expensive sunglasses. They are completely useless. The ends where you insert the arms of your sunglasses are not tight and have no rubber or material that keep the arms inserted. Also the foam is thick so it makes the arms too big to fit on your ears after you insert them. I ended up tossing them. I would NOT recommend. Good idea but a bad design.

A bit small but works good
First I must say its hard for me to give this 3 stars because it did save my glasses and keep them floating when they came off. That being said my head is on the larger side and this is very tight fit. That makes it not go as far up the arm of the glasses and it can come off of one side quite easily. again it will float a pair of glasses with one arm in the retainer, but i wish it was a little bigger so that i could take my glasses on and off without having to remove the strap. Probably works great for smaller sizes, but not great for me.

Has saved my glasses during surfing
Problem: Glare and surfing.Sunglasses not an option without a stabilisation mechanism.Solution: Flotation device and bright color to make it easy to spot if it slips off. This fits the bill - I've lost the glasses off my head in wipeouts and still ended up finding them because of the floatation device bright color.1 way to improve this product would be to include a loop at the back so that even if the glasses do slip off the head, then when putting it on, the loop could be used to tie the device to a wetsuit rear cord. Still, this device does what it says it does, so I can't complain. 5 stars.

This Chums product is great! I use my old pair of prescription sunglasses for water activities like kayaking. Obviously, these are way more expensive to replace than normal sunglasses, so I need something I trust to hold onto them. The Chums grip my sunglasses tightly and do not fall off, but are easy to remove when I want. I tested them and my sunglasses do float. They fit under a helmet (for kayaking) - it is a bit bulky but manageable, not enough to make me seek out another option. I'm very happy with these!

Disappointed. I don't trust these to keep my expensive Ray-bands safe.
Just not very comfortable or secure feeling. I feel like I need to put ribber bands at the ends because they don't hold the arms of my sunglasses. The ends (where sunglass stems slide in) just are stretchy and pretty open with no way to make them snug. DISAPPOINTED

Not as pictured
I thought I was ordering the YELLOW retainer, however it defaulted to black. Also, when you pick the color, even the black option shows the yellow retainer ... which makes you believe you are getting the yellow one. Anyway, I would have sent it back but was leaving the country the next day and didn't have time. I'm a little disappointed as this black retainer is going to be very difficult to spot in our murky lake. :-( If the seller reads their reviews: I suggest you correct the color options so that the black option shows a black retainer and the yellow option shows the yellow retainer.

Would not recommend or purchase again
I purchased these for a canoe trip. When they arrived I tried them on my Oakleys and they would not go over the ear piece. I next tried them on my Bolle sunglasses. They fit on the earpiece but when I took them off they tore the rubberized section of the earpiece off of my sunglasses. This happened on earpieces on both sides. Since my trip was fast approaching and the rubberized sections off my sunglasses were already ripped off from just trying on the Chums product, I decided to use them on my trip. When attached to sunglasses the float is right against the back of your head. It makes it difficult to wear a wide-brimmed hat or a baseball cap. I ended up taking it off after a few hours. If you wear a hat while on the water or if you value your sunglasses, run from this product. I would not use it again and would not recommend it.

It IS too big, but it doesn't matter
If I'd actually read the other reviews, I wouldn't have bought these. They tube is indeed much too wide to securely hold my glasses (which are relatively thick at the ends) but it was quite simple to throw in a few extra stitches (with nylon thread) to get a perfect fit.I don't know if it's intentional, but I like that there is a bit of extra material so it is easy to adjust.

Do not hold onto your glasses well.
This model has to be pushed far onto the glasses as shown so the bend in the sides of the frames (temple tips) are what hold them on. So they do not stay on well, and when removing them you sometimes have to retrieve the plastic temple tips from inside the chum tubing.

Strap is Too Short and Too Loose
I did not try to see if these float but my glasses fit quite loosely into the retainer so if I lifted the glasses to clean them or wipe my eye, one side would almost come out of the retainer. I would prefer a slightly longer strap so I could take the glasses off - either put over my head or around my neck when not needed but still have them be in the retainer.

I'm not advocating these as a PFD, but...
If I fell overboard with nothing but one of these, I'd probably be ok. Very beefy, very floaty.

keeps expensive glasses from sinking
It isn't comfortable when wearing a hat, the fabric is too bulky and the float pops up the brim on my hat. Easy to attach and detach.
