ZOHAN EP01 [Improved Version] Gel Ear Pads for Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Earmuff

I hate to write the first negative review but I’ll write an honest review based on my experience.Out-of-the-box I didn’t notice any real comfort difference, but there may have been a slight improvement in noise reduction.The problem starts after about thirty minutes of wearing the earmuffs. I don’t know if it’s because of an increased weight, or because they’re made out of a slipperier material than the original pads, but, the earmuffs slid down the sides of my face pulling my eye protection along with them. The frames of my shooting glasses were pushed into the top of my ears causing a lot of pain and discomfort. Readjusting the position of the muffs, and the headband, only helped for a few minutes. The discomfort was so severe that I had to leave the range. I have tried these twice more with the same results. I’m going to have to return them!

As soon as I removed the original earpad and held it next to the Zohan in the other hand, I thought "how did I ever wear these before?" The original earpad is so thin and hard compared to these!After removing the original earpad, I also removed the black plastic bezel from the green muff itself, and installed the new foam right on top of the original foam, then replaced the bezel, and finally clipped in the earpad. Seems to filter out more noise this way and doesn't affect fit.If you try to put the foam directly under the earpad (without removing the bezel), the earpads won't snap in securely and will probably fall off.Overall, great improvement to an already quality set of earmuffs.

If you own a pair of the Impact Sport hearing protection, like so many do, this is a very worthwhile upgrade. The comfort level of these gel ear pads far surpasses the standard pads that come with the ear pro.Regardless if you use the hearing protection for short or extended duration the difference is very noticeable, especially for those that wear the hearing protection for longer times. In my case these get worn for up to two hours at a time working as a safety officer in a range. Before having these the Impact Sport ear pro would become very uncomfortable after about an hour with the standard ear cups, but these gel cups completely relieve that.The sound isolation is the same in my experience so you are not gaining or losing any performance. The only other thing to note which is a positive is that these gel cups do seem to keep the earmuffs further off your ear which can help if your ears stick out a little bit thus improving the comfort further.Highly recommend.

They fit as well as the originals foam inserts. They clearly have more a stable material which brings improved comfort and a better seal. They also have a mild matte finish on the material that contacts your skin, which was part of what attracted me to them over the other gel offerings that have a gloss/slick finish. The slick/gloss finish strikes me as it would feel sticky to the skin on a hot day at the range.These do not have a specific area that's more clearly defined as an opening for your eye protection, which I'm fine with. Depending on how your head is shaped, your size and so on, that opening could be in a bad place for your needs. These have enough give to accommodate eye pro comfortably, while still keeping a good seal.Hopefully these prove to be durable over time, that's been my only concern about using gel seals. They sound like they could be a mess if they leak. Since the price on these was way more reasonable than some of the other options and there appeared to be other aspects that I liked(as noted above) I am giving these a try.

I am a light sleeper and it just gets worse as I age. Plus I am a night owl after working nights for 35 years. Got a little bit of a Sea Plane noise problem in "Normal" times about the time I am trying to get to sleep. Plus my Puppy was quite the watch dog till she got older than me. So got the bad habit of sleeping with earplugs and earmuffs. I like the Honeywell L1's because of the low profile. However, the pads are totally flat in about a week! I have replaced them (not much cheaper that starting over!) and same thing. Found these, and have had them long enough now to say I love them!

My original review dinged the pads as being slightly too small for a secure fit within the tabs of the Howard Leight electronic muffs. I was recently contacted by the seller saying they had improved the fit and asked me if I would like to try the new version. Well, it arrived today and it's much better. Still easily installed, but not so inclined to slip past the plastic tabs as the previous one was. The Zohan pads were always more supple and soft than the OEM pads and they do a very good job of reducing loud noises. 5 stars now, especially for customer service.

These ear cups are so very comfortable that it is hard to describe. I was originally offput by the price and never really found the factory ear cups to be a problem. However, I kept reading the good reviews, and I shoot a lot, so I thought I would give these a try, and I am glad that I did. They are quieter than the factory cups, and the comfort difference is well worth the cost alone. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they have the same problem as the factory cups of not always staying securely in the headset. Nothing a couple dabs of hit glue didn't fix on both sets though. You only have one set of ears, so spend the money to protect them. These are a steal compared to hearing aids down the road.

Too small... only clips on 2 sides and won't stay... on Howard's Impact Sport.UPDATE: Oct-2019. I received an email through Amazon from the seller/company that they have an update version that would fit better. They sent me a new pair for free.. and they do fit and stay in better. Updated my rating from 1 to 4 stars.

After actually having them side by side with the OEM earpads on my earpro, its just a night and day difference. I will never understand how I thought the original thin empty pads were actually comfortable. These gel upgrades are better in every way from the cushion, conforming (better sound blocking) and heat during actual use.Going to tell my mate to get these now lol.
