Lightweight pairing knife with a serious edge
This knife is great for things that work well with a thinner and more flexible blade that is super-sharp. Very comfortable handle and weighs nearly nothing.I prefer this knife for off lighter, off-board work, like strawberries, brussels srprouts, perhaps trimming a chicken breast of fat. It is a bit light for harder things like potatoes, apples and carrots. The extreme sharpness of the edge allows it to be used for these albeit requiring a bit more effort than a heavier knife might. An excellent pairing knife to use for light/medium duty. Perfect for travel/camping. Excellent gift for someone who prepares their own food, or is just starting on their own. Ideal for someone who finds most knives "too heavy".A lot of knife for about $10.

Great knife
This is a great knife. I've been a cook and chef for 35 years, in 1983 I was given an Opinel folding pocket knife which I carry to this day. This paring knife was everything I expected. Blade is thin, flexible, well honed and arrived razor sharp. The handle, just like my thirty something year old knife, feels good right out of the box. This knife is made to last a long time and take a pounding.

Opinel fans should have one, People not familiar should try one!
Not much to really say. If you are fan of Opinel folding knives, you will love this one for your kitchen. If you are not familiar with Opinel, this would be a great, inexpensive introduction. This knife is everything you want in a pairing knife; Light, sharp, and super thin, yet strong. Very easy to sharpen, as well. You can go wrong for the price!

Super Quality, Great sized French Knife!!!!
You cannot beat these knives. I would recommend that you oil the handles when they arrive. Super sharp, super sized handles for both men and women, comfortable to use too. I first learned about Opinel knives in Paris. We went on a bicycle tour of Versailles and we were asking the leader of the tour what we should take home as souvenirs. She said that a lot of locals carry an Opinel (Made in France) for picnics because they are used for cutting cheese, baguettes and etc. She had one with her, it folded up and she let us use it to cut our cheese and other lunchables by the Canal. It was awesome! I purchased this knife for my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas and they love it!!

Perfect pare
This is just a beautiful knife. Keeps a nice edge and is great for paring an apple, chopping some herbs. Obviously, it doesn't have the same capabilities as a chef's knife, but it can serve as a substitute in a cinch if this is all you have. Just an all around well made, classic knife.

Opinel is the best!
I buy Opinel paring knives often, and I give them as gifts. Well made, comfortable in the hand, and a blade that holds an edge. Love them. They also make a garden vegetable knife that folds, which I love.

sharpens easy. works great
thin stainless steel blade with single bevel cutting edge. sharpens easy. works great. will require frequent sharpenings, but razor sharp edge is worth the effort. 25 seconds on a 600 grit diamond plate.
