A Single Thread of Moonlight - A Cinderella story of revenge and romance

One of the top five books I've read.
This has to be one of my top favourite books now. 510 pages filled with a strong female MC, fun, love, humour. A book loosely based on Cinderella but this Cinderella is no fool. Honestly, I can't recommend this enough. I finished it in two evenings. Absolutely amazing ❤️

The MOST charming characters
Laura Wood's characters are always the most charming I have read in any books. I desperately wanted to find out how it would end, but also didn't want the book to ever finish!

Reading heaven
Unalloyed reading pleasure!! This deliciously romantic country house mystery is note perfect. Thrilling, gripping, witty, moving - it is literally everything you could ever wish for in a book. Guaranteed to get you out of a reading rut! Recommended for all teens age 12 or 13 up, and definitely for grown ups too.

Another triumph
I always intend to read Laura Wood books in little sips and then I begin and can’t help but read them in great gulps. A Single Thread of Moonlight is a beautiful, Cinderella-inspired story with the romance, dreamy settings, beautiful outfits and determined, independent main characters you hope for when you read one of Laura’s books. I LOVED the twists and turns, the mystery and the theme of discovering the truth about yourself and others. This book manages to be both gentle and stirring, making you want to fight for yourself and those you love. Another absolute triumph, highly recommended.

Delicious reimagining of the Cinderella story
A Single Thread of Moonlight is a historical reimagining of the Cinderella story, with the strong, determined, Iris fleeing her family home, finding work as a seamstress in London. Seven years later she meets the cold, shrewd, arbiter of fashion, Nicholas Wynter, who has a proposition that may just lead the way for her return into society. Can they both exact their revenge on their enemies? My goodness, I loved this book! It’s a story we think we all know, but Laura Wood has written a fresh take on the classic tale, with a capable heroine you fall in love with from the start, a devastatingly handsome lead, and a few twists along the way to deliver a gorgeously satisfying romance. As with all her other YA books, there are sumptuous details of clothes, food and houses, and she paints a picture that makes you think of actors, film scenes and other books that may have been influences, but delivers a fresh, unique view to the story, and makes it all her own. Absolutely wonderful.
