This would be way too thick. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great gear oil for my 2001 Jeep Wrangler *by on Reviewed in the United States 11 September 2025* I ordered the Valvoline Synchromesh for my 2001 Jeep TJ with the five speed manual transmission. This transmission requires the gear oil for yellow metals.The transmission was grinding while going into second gear, especially when cold. The Jeep has 190K miles on it. I ordered 4 quarts and only needed two. I also ordered the AIGMISON 3L Transmission Fluid Pump to make it easier to fill the transmission. It worked like a charm.After changing the gear oil, the shifting is noticeably smoother and it doesn't grind . It was grinding almost every shift into second gear and once in a while going into other gears. I would recommend this gear oil for the Jeeps that need the GL-4 oil.
