Mud & Grass Effect Model Paint Kit

I've built model kits for 50 years and worked in film special effects for many of those years. I was unaware of Valleo's weathering products and have stocked up on many supplies. I thot this product perfectly replicated the look as advertised - mud with grass in it. I have made use of being able to thin the product with water to build up layers. I have also been able to color the product with Tamiya paints. These products are extraordinarily useful for heightening the "reality" of dioramas, figures, maquettes, etc.

This stuff is amazing. I use it for miniatures. I had a plain, flat, boring base on a mini I was painting and didn't know what to do with it. Slather on a little bit of this, and suddenly you have a nice muddy ground texture to paint over or leave as is. Dries surprisingly fast, but easy to work with.

This stuff is crazy. Pix really don’t do it justice. I brushed little on side of the Russian T90 besides applying to wheels and tracks .goes on easy - simply magic!

great texture, easy to apply but lacks color variation. When dried the color is uniformly brown. So it looks like old dead grass. I wanted something that looked closer to the picture on the bottle. I ended up mixing in a little yellow acrylic paint. This gave a better color closer to fresh grass.

I love this stuff! It goes on easy and looks flat out amazing. It’s pretty versatile too! I’ve used it on multiple styles of terrain as muddy ground and also as some “gross” aesthetics on some Kingdom Death models such as The Dung Beetle Knight Ball and The Lonely Tree. Love this stuff!

I used this material for a 54mm figure base and it worked PERFECTLY! I applied it with a small hobby spatula and it adhered to the base, resin wall and figures boots in a very realistic manner. There isn’t a lot in the bottle for the price, but I still will give it 5 stars.

Although you could do it yourself, but I'd rather focus on building and painting scale models than mixing paints. The product is acrylic crushed vegetation with texture of grass and mud.
