Bonito e emocionante!

NOT A WINNER FOR ME - 2.5 STARS
'Only You' by Melanie Harlow was a mixed bag for me. I've read several MH books before and enjoyed the romantic themes, but this one just didn't do it for me, I'm afraid. It lost me somewhat early on with a couple of scenes I felt were contrived (e.g. a baby at the door). The things I liked:1. Overall, a fun, light and easy read.2. Dialogue and banter.3. The attraction between the two MCs was luscious. 4. Emme was likable and a baby is always sweet. The things I didn't like so much:1. There were a lot of characters - are they to feature in future book? They took the focus away from the plot and the flow was interrupted.2. I found it difficult to invest emotionally with the narrative as it came across as shallow at times (although some scenes were warm and cute) and the MCs lacked depth. Nate was harder to connect with, except for a few scenes, e.g. his memories about his brother.3. My impression on downloading the book was romance/drama, but it was more of a romp, and that's fine, if that's what I'm expecting.4. The inner voice reflections and ponderings were a little OTT and dull (e.g. Nate's first one went on for a long time and referred to things I doubt guys really care about, like decor).'Only You' wasn't a winner for me. I acknowledge that other reviewers loved the book, so this is just my opinion. I will definitely download another MH in the future as I've liked/loved her previous work.

Friends and neighbors to lovers
Another swoon worthy Friends to lovers story from Melanie Harlow. Nate and Emme live across from each other but they couldn't be more different. Emme is looking for Mr Right, Nate is happy with various Miss Right Now's. He's also quite happy to bail Emme out of trouble on a frequent basis, until one night when he needs her help. Nate Pearson doesn't ask /anyone/ for help.....until a baby gets dropped on his doorstep! This really is a story of change, how Nate and Emme see each other and their perceptions of how their lives should unfold, particularly Nate and how events in his younger years have effected him.And reading Nates's interactions with little Paisley....awww. And he totally fainted!!!

Loved it
Oh Emme is adorable and her little accidents they are hilarious . Nate is a gorgeous out together guy until he finds a baby on his door that turns out to be his. He is a closed off man with a fear of getting to close to others because he doesn't want to care too much for anyone for fear of losing them and so although he's undeniable attraction to Emme he keeps pushing her away . But he ends up redeeming himself at the end.

A little long winded but an entertaining journey all the same. This has all the makings of a perfect Hallmark movie.Loved it.
