Nightflyers

Paperback edition doesn’t contain all the stories
I haven’t read it yet so this review isn’t on the content of the story. However, I have to give it 1 star as the paperback edition which is listed under the same listing as the hardback (the difference appearing to be the hardback is illustrated) isn’t actually the same book. The hardback contains the titular novella “Nightflyers” and a collection of other short stories. The paperback edition is only the novella Nightflyers, without anything else. These should be two different listings.

Not for the faint of heart...
The book is quite dark in it's nature... It contains some very strong characterisation and this is seen to develop or flounder in light of the problems encountered. Each individual has a differing purpose for the course they have chosen to follow. They determine the sacrifices they are prepared to make in order to realise their purpose many in turn becoming a sacrifice to the will of another. This is an interesting and somewhat challenging read with a very different feel to it than that located within the world of Westeros.

'Nightflyers' only
Review of product, not of the story itself:This is NOT a hardcover version of the short story collection Nightflyers and Other Stories first published in 1985. This is a relatively small hardcover book illustrated by David Palumbo which ONLY contains the novella 'Nightflyers'.

Be careful
The item I received - hardback - was only the main story. Not a collection.
