These are not recommended by safety experts and can make sockets MORE dangerous. There’s a campaign against them. Look it up. **Q: How easy is for a toddler to remove this?** A: A toddler could still poke a slim metal item into the live terminal and this design exposes the live terminal. These are not recommended by safety experts and can make sockets MORE dangerous. There’s a campaign against them. Look it up. **Q: Would these serve as good protection against light water splash on plugs near kitchen counters? That’s all I need, thanks.** A: Well...I got a load because I have 4 cats who love to....pee....on the sockets. We had a few blackouts when their pee hit the electrics...but...now we are protected...no power cuts sinCE. So kitchen splashes should not be a problem **Q: Does the plug socket have to swiched off when i installing the covers?** A: It plugs in the same a standard plug . As long as you use the same precautions you would with a wired plug it will be ok. i have on/off switches on all my electric sockets and use rhem. If you can switch off the plug then do so as an added precaution. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ie/products/333795523-norjews-baby-proof-plug-socket-cover-uk-safety-socket-protector](https://www.desertcart.ie/products/333795523-norjews-baby-proof-plug-socket-cover-uk-safety-socket-protector) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ireland* *Store origin: IE* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
