Great book
I loved everything about this book. I am working on one of the patterns now and can't wait to do more.

Beautiful Patterns
Love this book. I have completed about 40% of the shawls and appreciate that even the simple patterns have interesting colors and added accents that I would not have thought of. In fact I thought I had lost it and immediately ordered another. No problem as now I have two. There are ‘triangle’ shawls all the way to a mobius wrap. The patterns are rate 1-3 stars for difficulty and I was easily able to understand the patterns/ I have been crocheting for about a year now. Would highly recommend this book.

Nice Shawls
The shawls are wonderful and creative. Most of the instructions are excellent. However, some of them are a bit sloppy. She writes "miss" instead of "skip" when talking about skipping stitches. She will give a specific number of chains for the foundation row, add one, and tell you to do a stitch instead of including that additional chain in the original number. For the Splash of Orange shawl I would recommend practicing the stitch before attempting the pattern. It is like no triangle stitch I am aware of.For the By the Lake shawl the number of rows is incorrect. The shaw is 39 rows. The instructions are for rows 1 - 5 with rows 3 - 5 repeated 33 times for a total of 38 rows. The instructions say 39 rows. Row 40 is not mentioned and the pattern picks up at row 41 for the buttonhole band. Had me very confused. The author is from the UK and that could count for the differences.

Wonderful book, Wonderful patterns
This book has wonderful patterns. In fact I'll be making most of them since they are so lovely. If I don't use the yarn they recommend (if I can't find it or it is too expensive) I know that there are substitutes that I can use. In fact there is one I am already started on and it is working up beautifully. So glad someone showed this book for me because it is the best book I have so far.

Full Of Beautiful Patterns
You know how sometimes you buy a pattern book because you just love one or two patterns in it? This one is FULL of those kinds of patterns. I can see myself making at least 75% of what's in the book. I even bought another copy for a coworker and friend who crochets, too...she was leafing through mine, tried to find it at our local craft stores and couldn't, so now she has her own. :)

Not as many shawl patterns as I would have likes ...
Not as many shawl patterns as I would have likes. Quite a few bulky wrap patterns that were a bit strange for my taste.

Delightful Crochet Shawl Book
My current passion in crochet is shawls or wraps. This book came loaded with lovely patterns & ideas.Although I have not made anything yet, I’ve read through the instructions which seem to be easy to understand & very specific. The extra ideas added to patterns gives you interesting alternatives to individualize your wrap.Highly recommend this crochet pattern book, even though my crochet library has over 200 books.Delightful!

Loaded With Beautiful Patterns!
Amazing Book! When I ordered the book I didn't know what all the patterns looked like in it. I was so pleasantly surprised! I love all of them. I usually only find a couple of patterns in a book I purchase that I want to make...but this one is definitely different. I purchase patterns and books online and on etsy. Great value for the quality of patterns. I will definitely be buying some of Laura Strutts other crochet books.

Great patterns
I am currently working on one of the patterns in the book. The crochet terms are explained and the patterns are easy to read.

Fantastic patterns and useful UK terminology
This book is a little gem. I bought it a couple of years ago and due to life commitments didn't really have the time to tackle the projects. Now, due to the pandemic situation, I have found I have a lot of time so I picked up crochet again. Up to 2 months ago I would have considered myself to be a beginner. Now, I have already completed 5 of the patterns including the more difficult Paintbox Palette shawl (which, by the way, doesn't have any pattern mistakes like another reviewer mentioned!). The author's instructions are very clear and in UK terminology which is a blessing and I personally find all the patterns gorgeous! The yarns that are used in the book can be quite expensive however, it is very easy to find substitutes and so I have done for most projects, i.e. bought much cheaper yarns that worked very well nonetheless (for instance, the yarn for the Paintbox Palette project is discontinued but I have used a pretty cheap, gorgeous multicolour 30% wool yarn instead and it worked just perfect). Would definitely recommend to beginners and intermediate crocheters. It has worked fantastically well for me as I have built my skills steadily and I think now I am way past my days as a beginner. However, very experienced crocheters who like a challenge might find the patterns a bit repetitive and boring I guess.

Buena compra
