Q: Would this be big enough for 6 cockatiels?

It's spacious enough for about 7-8 cockatiels in my opinion. I have 6 parakeets and a cockatiel in my cage. Hope this helps.

Q: Had anyone had bent bars when their product arrived?

I ordered this for my sister and it didnt have any bent bars,but cage is a real pain to put together and she doesnt like the way the plastric tray is made.and the way the front door opens.She actually is not using them any more I would choose a different cage.

The maximum number of parakeets (budgies) for this cage should be never be more than 6.

Q: Does the bottom grill plate go over the poop tray keeping animals out of the tray?

no, the tray goes over the grill and can be removed to clean and still leave the cage secure.
