Is this brown flour or white flour. I want to make brown bread.

It's a whole wheat flour, so it is brownish in color. I use it to make Irish soda bread; the bread comes out brown.

Is the extra course much better than the course whole meal flour for brown bread?

I would say it is equal to or a skosh better than the course meal flour.

Where is the wheat grown/produced?

I am Irish born. The reason the Irish bread tastes so good is the wheat grows slowly in a perfect climate, not hot, not cold. Yes, there is plenty of rain but it falls nicely, rarely heavily. Understand this is actually American Wheat brought over when we hit bad times. To have good tasting food one needs patience, don't rush it. The same when you bake Irish Soda Bread, gently does it, don't handle too much.. May the luck of the Irish be with you!
