ATOMSTACK A5 Pro Laser Engraver, 40W Laser Engraving Machine with Eye Protection, 5W-5.5W Output Power, Laser Cutter for Wood Acrylic Metal Leather, 400x410mm

The media could not be loaded.  This is my FIRST time using any type of laser engraver. Beginners be ware! It is a challenge at first and does have its learning curves but once you get familiar with the program it is easy to operate. I have a background with 3D printers and Autocad, which I think made it a bit easier. However, I did spend 3+ hours on YT tutorials and still have ALOT to learn. It is a learning experience so be patient and dont get easily frustrated. The machine itself is amazing, I have not had any issues with the program or mechanisms of the A5 Pro. Keep in mind that I do not use it for business but rather a hobby, I dont use it on a daily basis and have only done several projects, all on wood. I did have an issue with the image shifting (ex. Lion) but that was my own fault, I did not tighten the laser enough after positioning it. The power for the linkin park piece was too high at the beginning but that was easily fixed by lowering intensity of the laser. Again, I have just started my learning journey so these are just small examples of what this great machine can do. There are WAY better and more detailed examples online but if you are undecided about purchasing it, JUST DO IT. You wont regret it. Furthermore, there are tons of laser engraving forums with support and help if you ever need it.

When I read the capability of the A5 engraver it said it could engrave brass. It was unable to etch into the metal. I assume I would have needed softer brass but I had to get the brass professionally done.

This is not my first Atomstack product which is the reason that I purchased this engraver. This Laser Engraver was very easy to put together following the 6 steps in the manual. It was easy because a lot of it was already assembled. The thing that I like most is that this has a metal frame and all metal parts, unlike other engravers, making it very stable. This is important in order to get a quality print or cut as the laser moves back and forth. The power of the laser is excellent. It has a tightly focused beam, unlike others, allowing for greater detail and precision. It cut through a 5mm birch plywood like butter. It will work even better once I add air assist. If you want an even more powerful one, Atomstack sells an S10/A10 model. For me, this model is perfect. In order to use it, you need to either download LaserGRBL or purchase LightBurn. I prefer LightBurn since it has more advanced functionality.

No clue what’s going on. The instructions do not give any clue of what to do next after putting together. Terrible instructions btw. (The only good thing about this is that it was packaged very well) there is no recommendations for software listed anywhere, according to on YouTube video, it cannot create images, this ‘lasergrbl’ or whatever software someone says it uses. What they don’t tell you is that you need ANOTHER software just to create the images. They have to be ready to go in order to use the ‘laser Garbo’ at a cost. Hopefully I could resell this thing. It’s useless to me. Incomplete, not user friendly and if you are a beginner, STAY AWAY! The lack of instructions alone should help you get something different. So much money wasted.Update: So my son took a crack at it since he owns several and has a business. He got it working, but the engraving leaves a line fill in the engraving. Like a whole bunch of tiny slats that can easily be broken with enough pressure. His words: “I would never get something this messed up. This is insane!”It just keeps getting worse. For the love of god, research BEFORE BUYING!!! Please!! Learn from my mistake!

Received two weeks ago. Opened box up, but have not taken anything out or attempted putting it together. Box looks in great condition and it is very well packed. My son and I will put it together the week after Christmas. Since I had two CNC water jets that I assembled with 50,000 PSI pumps for cutting custom shapes out of glass and crystal. We don't foresee any assembly problems. I'll follow up with how well I expect this laser engraver will work or if it is a lemon from the factory. The price and reviews were very helpful in my purchasing the ATOMSTACK A5 Pro Laser Engraver, 40W Laser Engraver. By the way, shipping was right on as expected. I read reviews that said this is not a 40 watt laser, and indeed it is not. It is a 5.5 watt LED laser module, mounted on a great XY mechanism. The sort of part, is that while it is 5.5 watt (power dissipation) LED it has the equivalent output power (optical power output) of a 20 watt laser. However, since the laser focus is so "focused", it acts like a 40 watt CO2, and is able to cut 13mm balsa, 5 mm poplar, and 3mm plywood with relative ease (I have not tried acrylic or glass yet). For the same reason its engravings are very detailed. You will need to get software and learn it to get this running. Adobe illustrator (or Inkscape) to make/convert your vector drawing. LaserGRBL or Lightburn (recommended) to create the XY coordinates and control the movements of the printer/engraver/cutter. And a lot of Youtube videos to help you focus, setup, and grok what you are doing.I love the machine and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting to start laser engraving/cutting.

The ATOMSTACK laser engraving machine is a good product. But, a little truth in advertising would let you know that you need A) a good computer to operate it with B) at least one software package to run it and some template applications C) A well ventilated shop and a large workbench D) more equipment to control smoke and fumes E) plenty of material to work with, you will make mistakes. And, finally F) an education in how to operate it. get ready to watch a LOT of YouTube videos. This machine is better suited for a little shop that sells personalized ornaments and gifts. It's a bit much for someone that just wants a new hobby.

Husband's laser toy, he likes it!

Did a lot of research before buying as this would be my entry into laser engraving. It was very easy to set up and get started, however, I definitely recommend using Lightburn over GRBL. I found it did everything I expected, even things online reviews said it wouldn't do. I am completely new to lasers and had no issues at all engraving on metals, without all the tricks the internet says you need to do, or any other materials. So far I've done plenty of metals (painted, non-painted, aluminum, stainless steel, tumblers, dog tags), leather and wood

The item and installation instructions were clear and made assembly simple with item numbered bags and tools necessary. The inclusion of basic use instructions would be of benefit to someone such as myself being a beginner. I am a scrollsaw craft person and my intention is to use the engraving feature to enhance scrollsaw projects or create some stand alone craft items. This is for personal gratification not sale or source of sustainable income. Thank you.

Absolute false advertising of the product.

Product works well but had to go to you tube to get instructions. Also downloaded them from the manufacturer site. Still can program a home button so alignment is a bit of an issue.
