Not Good for Portrait Mode
It seems that the designer of most of these cases assume that everyone will be using it propped up in landscape mode to watch movies or in landscape mode for game playing or web browsing. Those of us who want a case that enhances our reading pleasure are left out in the cold. I prefer to read my books in portrait mode, but it's awkward doing so with this case because there isn't a way to stabilize the back, and I can't find a comfortable way to hold it. If the strap was situated where I could bring it forward to hold the front and back of the case together, it would be easier to hold, and a finger pocket would ensure a good grip on the device. Currently, I am holding it together with a large rubber band. I had a case for my original Fire that was the best. Unfortunately, the same design isn't available for the Fire HDX 7. buyers remorse
it worked well at first, but as I was using it I kept wishing it had other features.as a base device it is fine. it protects the screen, but I would not expect it to work for long as it seems to be made of the same flimsy hard plastic of your .99 cent phone case, also not good if you want to prop it up vertically.the device did what it said it would, but I am currently suffering from buyers remorse.

Awkward
I don't hate it, its really OK but 3 stars as a measure of "OK" seems a bit deceiving. It does the job in protecting the screen- when you hold the sides together with the elastic belt- but thats it. It is clumsy and doesn't prop up, it flops open with the camera facing down, and access to the buttons are awkward, and I still haven't found the best way position to hold it in. Unless you really want a lopsided, loose book jacket, don't bother with this cover.

Pretty color, but disappointing product.
This case works, but it's flimsy. I'm now expecting to replace it in a few months. Also, the easel part doesn't hold. Next time I'll invest more money in it and get one that lasts.

well made case
It is a nice well made protector that works great, I am not to happy with the flip up stand on the back, it doesn't stay up and needs some sort of latch.

Simplicity is always best!
The strap seemed very tight- am fearful it will tear. I am glad there is no magnetic issues. I read there have been problems with those.

Good for a stand only
If you are looking for a stand then this is an ok choice. I would like something sturdier that actually protects the entire Kindle front and back.

There are better cases which will hold the Kindle easier for reading
There are better cases which will hold the Kindle easier for reading, This is ok for protection and not as expensive as the others.
