Bought this on a whim and everything the author wrote really resonated with me. I loved her style. She was able to explain quite complex subject matter in a light, manageable and respectful way. I’m excited to put what I’ve learned to use and absolutely loved how interactive it was. The book itself is gorgeous and is something I’m excited to gift this holiday season.

Some books we buy to read and share but "Morden Day Magic" is one of those unique books you will tell your friends about but will always keep as the format and exercises are for a life long reference to inner-peace and empowerment.Very well written and organized.Makes for a gift that the recipient will cherish for a long time, just don't give them yours.

I'm going to start this review by saying that while I've seen this book listed numerous times in my search results on Amazon I wasn't so sure about giving it a go mainly because of the title and I felt that it was a little gimmicky.I've been a practicing witch for almost 30 years now. Most of my life and I've come across a lot of interesting literature in that time. That's been very deep, inspirational, powerful or sometimes downright sadly off the mark.Lately I've been in a reading lull due to a new generation of pagan writers who I don't seem to identify as strongly with as the traditional authors I grew up with from Scott Cunningham to Raymond buckland or even Silver Ravenwolf. (These are just a few I'm naming and reference to magic is a practice and by proxy Wicca since this book itself does not necessarily proclaim to belong to any specific tradition and is more about the practice of magic in both theory and practical application. )I have to admit I have not finished reading it yet but I wanted to leave a review anyway because I picked this book up and beyond. It just being a beautifully put together volume that thoroughly impressed me on its arrival. From the nice hardback hover to the interior that not only explains and breaks down every property and practice of magic, you could seek to learn but it also includes various entries for journaling and introspection in giving you homework and something to think about instead of just mindlessly reading and following.Normally when a book is trying to teach but also give room and prompt for journaling. The content tends to be a little lackluster but in this case I'm finding this is a perfect balance and this author knew what she was doing in writing this book in composing it and structuring it in this way.It really is a great balance and I found that her voice is very down to earth, realistic and practical while taking the subjects with a nice depth and speaking in areas not always shown in a single volume.Honestly, I can't give enough credit to the author because I have to say from what I've picked up lately in the way of books. This piece could have easily been taken by anyone looking for a quick dollar to make and turned into eight volumes since the eight rules, but it could have realistically been stretched out over several books in the hands of somebody else I have to say, I'm glad it's in the hands of Rachel Lang because she broke with her heart and spirits and gave instruction and opened the way for a generation that desperately needed her and needed this.The eight simple rules are just that- simple, follow them with or without witchcraft and you'll be doing okay for yourself, even if just looking at this in the way of a personal and powerment practice. Honestly, I don't think anyone who reads and actually consumes this volume will be so negligent with its contents. It's hard not to take it to heart to give it its work and practice along with the exercises given. It's all very simple, easily described and a beautifully taught. This book is a work of magic and I look forward to finishing it. I would highly recommend anyone pick it up. It was interested in the practice of magic. Whether with or without a spiritual connotation that is your choice. This book is not about religion. It is not about witchcraft. It is about magic, plain and simple and it can be used, utilize and be of great value to anyone who chooses to take the journey.I am so glad I got over myself. Put this in my cart and gave it a chance. It's rare that we are taken by such good surprise and when we do we have no choice but to celebrate that accomplishment and give credit where it's due. This book will definitely have a place on my shelf. However I have a feeling it won't be sitting there for much longer. It's not the type of book to just sit and collect us. It's the type of book that you wear out in rereading and in notating. It's the type of book that is purposely created in hardback because it would be shredded in soft cover form from use.Whether you're looking to get back to basics and have a very well-rounded education refresher or if this is your first book on the subject, there's something here for everybody from learning about protecting yourself, Having respect for and empowering yourself or digging deeper into the mechanics of ritual, magic, energy, healing and astrology. Needless to say, by the end of this book you'll be well. Versed and ready for whatever journey you choose to travel on closing its cover.You have the power. We all have the potential. It's up to us to harness it and use it how we see fit. It's that last part that really defines us. I hope you all use it well and enjoy the read.Highly recommended.

I've personally had a reading with this wonderful astrologer! She is fantastic and so helpful! This book is a great, fun read that will offer the reading many tools to help them on their personal journey.

Rachel's approach to creating more magic in your life is so clear and accessible. Through her exercises and essays you realize that magic is so much easier to create than you think it is and a few simple rituals can change your entire experience in the physical world. I also read her horoscopes every month and have seen her as an astrologer and she's equally gifted in that area.
