Very helpful particularly for buying books
Really love this book. It is small in size and content containing only 32 pages. It is wipe clean and the cover is rather more suited to a child than the adult. Said to help parents ut i find it particularly good for one who has not an intimate knowledge of schools but wishes to buy books for children I, as a great grandmother, found it helpful as for example I knew the colour banding on books meant something but this book clearly shows exactly what each band means. The areas covered are helping children to read and buying suitable books. I am very pleased with it and find it very helpful.

Very useful
This book is really helpful if you have a child at the early stages of learning to read, whether it’s first child or there’s been a few years gap and you want to refresh. It’s an easy simple read, very accessible and not overwhelming but at the same time gives a lot of knowledge and information, and ties in with the well known oxford books used in schools

A handy guide
Helpful booklet- well presented and practical, plenty of good pointers. It's aimed primarily at the OUP bank of learning to read resources so it's primarily a companion to that learning framework. A handy guide if you feel you need it.

An excellent, easy to read guide!
I'm a Year 1 school teacher so I'm naturally very interested in helping children learn to read. This is an excellent, easy to read book that explains the different ways to support your child at this important stage of development. It tells you what you need to know about phonics, reading at home and at school. I certainly will use it for giving tips to parents. Excellent.

Excellent help for parents in helping their child to read
It is not as easy for all parents to help to teach their child to read as it sounds. So this book produced by Oxford, who also do the excellent Biff and Chip series, is an excellent idea. It is This is easy to read and explains the different ways to support your child with their reading in a very accessible way. It also helps to demystify the world of phonics, and will hopefully make parents more able to confidently support their child at home with their reading. Excellent.
