Are the pieces gray or brown in the gray/white set? In the pictures the gray pieces and squares look brown.

For the price, it is a very well made chess set. The chess men are carved nicely like chess pieces should be, not like some strange looking carvings that I've seen. They're not the nicest carved chess pieces I've seen, but still they are very nicely done. The board is well made. It's not the highest quality marble, but at this price it is still REAL nice quality marble.  For this quality marble, I would have expected to pay more for a marble chess board and chess men. To get a finer quality marble chess set you would have to pay at least $300.00 or more for it. I know because I have checked the prices on line for a nicer marble sets. The felt is glued on nicely to the bottom of the chess pieces. Before I bought it I was worried that the squares on the chess board would come apart. The board squares are VERY well glued together. I have had mine for over two years and I believe it will never come apart, as long as you treat it well. ie: don't drop it or bang it hard on anything. This set is nice enough that you will definitely impress people with it!! In my overall opinion it is decent quality. If you take care of it, like you should with even the best quality marble chess sets, I believe it will last you for the rest of your life.
