I think this book is very enlightening as far as how to speek the language especially since my mom is from there and now I can have some conversations with her in the Lao language.

I did not find this as useless as one of the other reviewers
I did not find this as useless as one of the other reviewers, but it is certainly not my go-to reference source, that would be the Three-Way Lao-English dictionary by Paiboon Publishing with English-Lao, Lao-English, and Phonetic Lao-English sections. It has become very easy to find both here and in Laos, and be be bought from Amazon or directly from the publlisher. That, to my mind, is by far the best pocket reference available.. This Tuttle publication is by no means the only dictionary that came out either slightly before or after the revolution that has unsettled spelling, which was in flux long before the communist victory in 1975. My own feeling is that if you want to communicate with Lao people educated post 1975, the Paiboon, with modern, simplified Lao spelling is the way to go. If you are reading older documents and need the pre-revolutionary spelling, one the larger desk dictionaries is probably a better bet. While my own feelings for this Tuttle publication is only so-so, many people used it to advantage for a number of years. I like having it along with the excellent Paiboon dictionary and a number of other sources. Having only one dictionary available to you when learning a foreign language is a lesson in frustration in any circumstance.

単語が少ない
コンパクトな反面、単語が少ないです。同じぐらいのコンパクトさなら、「Lao-english English-lao Dictionary for English Speakers」のほうがまだ便利です。あえて買う必要はないかな。
