There are plenty of reviews about Metroid Dread already, so to keep things quick and simple.If you're a Metroidvania fan you'll love Dread. It's got a very sizeable map with areas that are cleverly designed to often push you forward toward the next intended goal post. For less established gamers it's not necessarily an easy game and it certainly keeps you alert and on your feet, but it's fair and allows respawns near to where you died if you choose to continue rather than return to the last save spot.The Special Edition pack is large, heavy and very satisfying for collectors. The included book is gorgeous and well put together, and the steel case is great. The art cards are ok and a nice addition too.One of the best games I've bought for years. It's addictive and I've sunk (too) many hours into Dread uncovering all the hidden areas and powerups. The extras you get with the Special Edition just tops it all off. Highly recommended.

The special edition box set is amazing. The box is huge and of very good quality. The contents are high gloss post cards for each of the main 2d metroids game to date. There is also the game itself and the steel case, all of which are nice. Neatly packed underneath is the art book which is seriously next level of cool artwork for each of the games. I haven't looked at the art for Dread yet fearing there could be spoilers inside, but I look forward to looking through it when I've got into the game more.The game itself is amazing so far, although I am huge fan of the series and genre in general so my opinion is probably slightly biased.I'll add some updates hopefully when I've given it more time but the initial impressions are very favourable. Great graphics, great fluidity of movement, eerie music and atmosphere.Can't comment in storytelling at the moment but I'm usually there for the gameplay and atmosphere over the story but so far there is hints of plenty going on!

As a big Metroid fan, I loved the art book and art cards showcasing the franchise's history. The game itself is a solid 2D action platformer. On a first playthrough it might seem restrictive with a very linear path to follow, but the developers have actually built in sequence breaking like Metroid: Zero Mission. It's awesome.

METROID DREAD is the best game to come from Nintendo in years.Being a big Ninty fan and ultra huge Metroid fan the last 25 years, I can say without a doubt that DREAD is worth every penny!The special edition is stunning 😍

I've been a fan of Metroid since I started with Metroid Fusion at 5 years old and played the rest Metroid has changed my life glad Nintendo brought it back but Metroid Dread is worth the wait challenging and fun and great story and mostly gameplay thank you MercurySteam :)

It was a gift for my brother and it came in a nice plastic box, really heavy because it has the book inside and in perfect conditions. Definetely the perfect present for him.

Superb collector's edition but unfortunately it was damaged

Great game. Amazing experience. Too tough to beat at some point which many people could find challenging but nonetheless is a solid top notch game. An Absolutely MUST buy
