TomTom Car Sat Nav GO Classic (6 Inch, with Traffic Congestion and Speed Cam Alert Trial Thanks to TomTom Traffic, EU Maps, Updates via WiFi, Integrated Reversible Mount)

I don't have a great car and my phones basic so this sat navs great . Easy to use and set up, does exactly what I wanted.

have bought my 3rd GPS for my car, after all I need one to find the toilet in my 1 bedroom bungalow. I had a TOM TOM for 20 + years and it finally gave up the ghost, it was an expensive buy but so worth it. My 2nd foray into GPS land was a Garmin, it lasted 4 months. I have been ill and didn't need to have another for myself until now.....I bought TOM TOM and just know I won't regret it. Great made, quality item, easy to use, clear screen....large screen, not a lot of faffing about to upgrade, always found Tom Tom easy to utilise. I paid £119.00 for this new one, no sale, still think it's worth it. The new GPS stays quieter on the road, makes you know the left its telling you about is the next....no confusion. Very accurate, great speed watching gives you a nudge when your foot is heavy. So many improvements, so solid a system, shows quality lasts and is sometimes worth paying that little extra for, not that i think the price is steep. Lightweight plastic type composition is a helluva difference from my old one. I loves me my Tom Tom and won't change to a cheaper version, best GPS on the road and easy to store your places you go, loads of functions. GREAT piece of kit

Mainly bought this TomTom sat nav because of live traffic which I didn't have before, but good to find that it also updates itself via wi-fi and has a 6 inch screen. It's good, I'm fairly happy with it and I like it's navigational way of working. I can create routes on our larger pc screen and send to sat-nav that way, which is good. My only criticisms would be that I find it difficult to clip on and off the screen mount, especially if it is mounted low down on the windscreen, also the size of it can be rather obtrusive, but can work around that I guess. I was not able to get live traffic whilst connecting to phone using bluetooth, so am having to create a wi-fi/hotspot on the phone and connect that way. As usual these days absolutely no instructions or guidance whatsoever included in the box re. how to actually use it, but much the same as any other sat nav, although a first time user might struggle.

This turned out to be a pretty useful portable sat Nav system. Fairly easily programmable, or as easy of these devices can be. Sat nicely on the windscreen. Decent sized map screen, and so far found to be pretty accurate. A good product for a reasonable price.

Many years ago I had a small Tom Tom and it never let me down. Then cars had integrated Sat Navs, but they were never as reliable as a Tom Tom and hard to update. My latest car does not have sat nav but wants me to link my iPhone and use a navigation app. No thanks! I have gone back to the TomTom and now set out confident, as I usually drive on my own, that I can get to my destination without fuss. This version has a big, clear screen and using the mounting pads I bought separately, does not slide off the dash. Best navigation product on the market and I got it for a reduced price too! Bonus, I can share it with my daughter whose Volkswagen Beetle is also without built in Sat Nav. Colour me happy.

So I went for the 5" model and although the screen is small it's actually less bulky to have set up in your car. The sucker is designed to fit onto the windscreen but I rigged it up slightly differently using Velcro and seems secure enough. Reason for buying one for the first time since driving for 25 years is that I was abandoned in a car park in a town I didn't know. The two drivers I was going to follow home swiftly disappeared leaving me with no idea how to get home. It was dark. I had a panic attack, drove around aimlessly in the dark until i eventually found a sign that helped me back home. I was physically ill for two weeks after due to stress and anxiety. I did not drive for three weeks after. The reason for sharing this story is because, if I had a Sat Nav none of this would have been a problem. I urge anyone who is a nervous driver to have a Sat Nav. It will save you one day. The Tom Tom range was recommended by a friend. The updates loaded via Wi Fi and it was good to go. Having spoken to the Amazon customer service they did recommend the 6" version over this model but as I'm not short of funds I'll use this until I feel the need to upgrade. I hope I've convinced everyone to get one asap.

I am sorry but I am going to return this useless thing. It will offer an address in a search but then cannot actually find the location. It can find a town but not the address in the town; it will wander around the town like lost balloon and it will never go the same way twice. Before i went on holiday i tested it in the UK and it told me that i had arrived at 3 destinations that it had made up. I have been in Portugal for 2 days and the only thing it has successfully found is Faro airport. We have been so lost, gone to so many wrong locations, even though it offered the correct address in search, it JUST CANNOT FIND ANYTHING. The problems are:- it can find an address in search, 1) but it cannot find the address when driving. 2) it will unexpectedly take you miles out of the way whilst trying to drive to the address, and still not find the address. 3) it will declare that you have arrived at your intended address whilst the car is in the middle of nowhere on a “bare road” with nothing around it. 4) it can get you to a town (Uk or Portugal) but not find an address in that town. We would have been better with water-divining sticks! TOM TOM customer service have tried hard - but the truth is unless you are spending £300 on a sat nav you will not get anything like what you are used to from an ‘in-car’ Sat nav. It didn’t ruin my holiday but it would have if I hadn’t spent a fortune on data charges for Google Maps on my phone.

Da mein altes TomTom Navi nicht mehr startete, habe ich mir als Ersatz dieses günstige Navi als Ersatz gekauft. Als dieses Navi eingetroffen ist, funktionierte mein altes wieder ohne Probleme. Ich habe natürlich das neue ausprobiert und es funktioniert genauso wie das alte, Obwohl es über 100 Euro billiger war. Was mir an TomTom nicht gefällt ist der Kundendienst. Über die Seite von TomTom nur Schrott antworten und wenn man über Umwege jemand erreicht, geht man nicht auf das Problem ein sondern es kommt nur allgemeine Antworten, die darauf hinlaufen, das Gerät zur Reparatur einzusenden. Vielleicht hilft es ja bei Bedienungsfehler. Aber echte Fehler. Keine Chance. Ich denke auch, das die Reparatur nach Garantie ende sich nicht mehr rechnet. Negativ: Komplizierte Anbindung an das Smartphone Das erste Update, trotz schneller Verbindung fast 3 Stunden. Straßenupdates zum Beispiel Geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen dauern Monate. Ich fahre z.B. über eine Straße bei der bei der Aufnahme eine Baustelle war mit 10 km Beschränkung. Nach 3 Monaten weißt mich das Navi immer noch auf die 10 km hin obwohl ich 50 fahren darf. Wenn man genaue Straßenmitteilungen bekommen will muss unbedingt das Handy richtig verbunden sein. Positiv: Staumeldungen und Störungen des Verkehrs werden sehr schnell in die Planung einbezogen und eventuell gute Umleitungen eingebaut. Die Geschwindigkeitswarnung wenn man z.B. im Orte über 50 fährt. Die ersten 5 km nur optische Warnung über 5 km auch akustische Warnung. Schnelle Eingabe der Zieladresse. Und schnelle Routenplanung. Alternativ Routen Berechnung. Abbiegehinweise sehr deutlich. Und im Gegensatz zu Navis von anderen Anbietern. Wenn ich aus welchen Gründen auch immer von der geplanten Route abweiche, dann kommt schnell die Einstellung über die geänderte Route und nicht wie bei meinen vorherigen Navis von anderen Herstellern, die Meldung bitte wenden Sie.

Como siempre perfecta navegacion y ahora permite actualización wifi (Igual que en todos los modelos un poco lentas) Le adapté el soporte del parabrisas que ya tenía del anterior y perfecto. Si quieres conducir si perderte, es una muy buena opción, ni maps ni nada, hace años que los utilizo y es fantástico. La única pega es de la web, a la hora de intentar ponerte en contacto con TomTom.
