I was surprised at how small this kalimba is! I've never seen such a tiny 17 key kalimba before. It is about an inch shorter than my others. It is also not as wide or thick. I love that, because I have small hands. Also, it is lighter weight than many other acrylics because of its tiny size. This makes it an excellent choice for children who are careful with their possessions (acrylic scratches easily) or adults with small hands. Because it is small, the keys are fairly close to each other. Those with big hands might have trouble hitting individual keys and might want to consider a larger model.This is a BEAUTIFUL, quality kalimba. The tines are already engraved with both letters and numbers, and they are smooth and rounded with no sharp edges. Every note rings true. There are no dead or stiff tines. For an acrylic, and especially one so small, the volume and sound quality is excellent. It has nice sustain, and the sound is rich. It does NOT sound cheap or tinny. However, if you are new to kalimbas, be aware that all acrylics are quieter than hollow wooden kalimbas. If you want a louder instrument, you would do better with a hollow kalimba.To sum up, I can't find anything to complain about. It is a beautiful, well crafted instrument especially suited for individuals with small hands. I highly recommend it to those who are seeking a small, lighter weight acrylic 17 key kalimba.

This is truly a good quality instrument and so cute. I have 4 kalimbas and this one sounds really nice. All notes, even the high ones, resonate clearly and sound good. The shape of the kalimba makes it very easy to hold which is important since the acrylic ones tend to be heavier. Compared to my other kalimbas, the metal tines don't curve downward as much and I found that I actually prefer this because it makes it easier to hit the tines. The rainbow effect in the acrylic is mesmerizing and I find myself reaching for this kalimba more than any other one I own!

I ordered the clear and got the wooden one instead. It was nice but not exactly what I ordered.

While the acrylic one looks nice and sounds nice I had bought the wooden on for $35 and I was sent an acrylic one which was $29.I believe that I should have the $5 returned to me.

I have purchased 3 Kalimbas in total from Amazon for around the same price point. First one was solid wood and like this one was amazing!! I went to repurchase but could not find the same seller. I purchased another solid wooden kalimba that was bad. Just overall poor quality in tone and sound and materials. So this time I was looking for an acrylic kalimba and thought I would take a chance and see and oh my goodness I am very impressed with this guy!! Sounds amazing, comes with everything you need including awesome stickers to visually see the notes on the tines a lot easier and quality is so good. I got the rainbow opposed to plain clear and it is just beautiful, to play and hear and to just look at. I highly recommend 🤗🤗💗🌈🎶🎶🎼 also in case anyone else is wondering if they should get a wood kalimba or acrylic, my personal opinion (I am really not a music savvy person other than my little kalimba lol) is that the solid wood kalimba produces the most soft and sweet sound while still maintaining the clarity and brightness of each note. The hollow wood kalimba sounds less like a sweet music box to me and more like a regular instrument producing notes - like less soft and sweet and bright and more just the resonance of the note if that makes sense. The acrylic kalimba produces the same music box sweet quality of sound but it is just a little “harsher” and strong in intensity of the sound if that kinda makes sense. My personal all time favourite sound is that produced by the solid wood kalimba, but the acrylic is lovely and awesome too and I plan to take the acrylic one to travel out with me as it is just a bit more sturdy and can be cleaned and disinfected so much easier than wood that is porous and not meant to get wet or dirty at all. Me encanto, tiene un sonido precioso, se siente la vibración de la música en las manos, sobre todo en piezas de música clásica. Es mi primer Kalimba y creo que el único que voy a comprar porque éste me gusta mucho y no necesito más. Es muy bonito y el efecto que tiene de arcoiris en el acrílico se ve divino. Incluye un pañuelo rosita para limpiarlo es muy tierno. El kalimba es de buena calidad, muy bien detallado, resistente, pesado y sólido, me gusta mucho.

The weight of this one felt comfort, once play multiple key it’s easy you can release your hold finger for move or skip keys. once play I found this one very good pre tuned and sounds a little bit crystal than other branding product. I think that coming from thick acrylic and the heave weight of this SonicoTech Kalimba. Game of Thrones is alway what I use to testimony . This kalimba give me a prefect behavior and beautiful sound, smoothly with chord. multiple platforming sequences simultaneously easy with this shape of design.stacking more easy with this one.
