nice and made in murica
bought these cause the magpuls are a bit more expensive if I'm not watching pricing that closely. function just fine but i'm confused as to why they'd use a plastic bearing instead of anything else, other than wear as the bearing would go first?). looks straightforward to replace and that's if it even fails. appears to have a bit of break in but after a bunch of movement, seems to not leave any more residue in the track. good enough for gov't work i'd say. these are also made of metal vs plastic so they have a bit of a better profile I think. I still buy both depending on the price of the day, but I'd imagine the metal will hold up better if put under stress.

Good For Inexpensive Metal BUIS
Made out of aluminum. Pretty light but also reasonably robust, esp for a part not intended to support any direct forces other than the shooters hand. Maybe not for war but at least as good as Magpul for the civilian. Does not spring load flip up, which is fine. Secure when folded down, held down by a spring loaded detent ball. Has a positive tactile click when deployed by hand and locks upright. Easy to use mechanism to unlock and fold down. No play so farโฆ but only about 50 rounds of .300 BO while using. Made in US. Will update if there are problems but UTG had a decent customer service rep.Update:Tried these out in lieu of Magpul BUIS on a .300 build. At present theyโre my only sight system but might be back-up in the future. They worked great during my first outing. Iโm a recreational shooter so Magpul poly sights are fine, but I wanted metal sights in case they wind up being my only sights for some time. I have some higher end Troy flip ups on another carbine and though these are not as beefy theyโre more than adequate and lighter. Rear sight windage adjustments have a positive click suggesting they wonโt move without actually turning and adjustment is via a tool-less thumb knob. Front sights seemed on. At 40 + yards without a rest and shooting casually while standing, the bulk of my shots hit a six inch target, which is fine for practical accuracy. Also purchased because from a US manufacturer who I can at least find for product support and/defect returns if necessary, unlike many of the other budget options sold on this site.Follow up a few months laterโฆhitting a 33% sized steel torso at 75 yards, again just standing and putting middle of target on top of front post.

UTG pros are made in the USA! Or at least they were when this one was made.
For the money, the UTG pro flip up site made in America is a halfway decent site. I've had no issues with them. They lock in solid as long as you don't over torque the cross bolt they should hold fine without breaking. It's an emergency site for what it is and dollar for a dollar. They're hard to beat.

An essential for every rail
Best option that won't break your bank for an unnecessary reason. Will continue to buy front and rear. Not sponsored

Made of metal. Good as light duty use and may break with a good impact.
Decent construction with good material and worth the money I paid for it. Does not have open assist which is fine by me. You only push the button to lower the sight. Took off a star for poor design choices. There are some design issues that are going to be minimal for an average user. I however see avoidable problems that would have been better not included to begin with. The locking system is a pin that has been milled down to be too thin. The area it locks up on is just a single side on the left that lets the sight wiggle 1~2 mils side to side and back and forth. Good enough for backup as they were intended but not for main usage if you are building a gun or if the one you bought had a manufacture too cheap to give you sights.Improvements recommended for the design:Locking in the up position should be done on both sides.Enlarge the lock up surface to be bigger than a #2 pencil lead. (The cone shaped part of the pin is too thin.)The pivot pin should be screwed in similar to how the mounting screw is. Using a steel staked in pin is going to loosen and fail when the materiel it is staked into is very thin Aluminum at the place that is the most violently shaken when fired. The locking pin needs to be moved from the very front to the middle. Where it is at now the material supporting it is way too thin.

Good so far
Seem solid. I donโt really use them because they are for back up and I havenโt needed them. I zeroed them, which was easy, then folded them down and put my optic on. I have no plans to intentionally beat up my rifle just to see how tough they are.
