SentryP005C Compact Combo Safe

It came dented and I had to pry it open. I was disappointed in the condition it came in. Now I have to go buy ink to print a label to send it back.

This safe is a good deterrent for any wannabe thieves for the fact that it's harder for anyone to get access to your valuables, but the lock in the safe itself is not very strong and could get jimmied open quite easily.Overall for the price you do get a good safe but I wouldn't trust this with an experienced thief for longer than a few seconds!

This safe is exactly how it is described, made of strong metal, and compact enough to be portable when you go on holiday. It is ideal for putting cash, jewellery and passports in. What I liked about it was its steel cord that you can secure to an omobile object, keeping it safe and a deterrent to possible thieves. An excellent price for security.

The "safe" I was sent is just as much use as (and probably slightly less secure than) a chocolate teapot. The lid is so ill fitting that when "locked" even the slightest pressure on one side of the lid opens a centimetres gap on the other - more than enough to insert quite a large screwdriver and very easily jemmy the flimsy feeling lock open.Even if the person very soon to be walking off with your valuables hasn't realised that all they need to do is to push down on one side to get easy access, I'm fairly sure that they could quite easily opt for the master criminal "hitting it with the claw end of a hammer" option with great success. This is largely due to the flimsy nature of the casing. The metal appears very thin and I doubt would withstand much.The combination wheel would benefit from an extra dial, however you can successfully set your own code (one of the few things that actually work as intended). Furthermore the capacity is surprisingly large compared to the size of the packaging and the provided soft mats are good for avoiding smartphone scratches. Not that I would trust my phone to the SentrySafe.The only possible redeeming feature of the safe is the lock cable. Working on a similar premise to laptop cables (feed the cable round a radiator, through the steel loop and back into the safe) I do believe that this would provide some deterrent and actually work fairly well. However it must be remembered that your resident thief will have already opened the safe without much thought or effort and looted it thoroughly, leaving you with an empty, ruined and entirely useless hunk of metal securely tied to your desk.Avoid at all costs - I'm returning mine.

The box is large but not particularly robust. the combination is just 3 numbers and a bit wimpy. So if you just want low level protection it is fine. To stop a more determined thief may require something a bit more meaty.

Perfect for keeping valuables such as passports, keys, money and phones safe in a camper van or car. A really determined well equipped thief could probably get it out and open with the right tools, but it should keep opportunists at bay and give you some piece of mind.
