Q: Does it display the time ?

That unit does not display time. I've had to replace it once in about ten years and did replace it with the same model. It's very simple and works well. The only downside I've seen is that it uses batteries pretty quickly. If you buy this model, when you're going to change batteries, make sure and wait at least 30 minutes before installing the new batteries. It sort of has to reset to work correctly.

Q: Is there a back plate you can order with this to cover previous thermostat ?

Do not own one but I would suggest an universal back plate.

Q: I have heat pump with Aux and emergency heat. Will this thermostadt work?

Yes easy to wire up and simple to operate. Click is alittle loud when it reaches turn on/off temp
