1984 (Essential Orwell Classics)

I am still reading the book. Mind blowing on how this books talks about actual events.. its crazy! A must read!

I love this book! It arrived quickly and was exactly as described!

It should be a MUST READ in every history and English class for 7-12 th grades.

Orwell’s novel is a classic. There is no dispute about that. The book I purchased is a very nice hardbound edition. The only somewhat negative comment I might make is that is no dust jacket. Other than that, I would recommend it.

I'm not a fan of this book; in fact, it is the most boring book I have ever RE-read. Even so, I've read it three times - twice for school and once for life. I bought this copy for my 77-year-old father, who said it was difficult but important to read. My 13-year-old son (who reads beyond a high school level) has read it several times. I guess you could call it a family favorite, but we find it more important than enjoyable.This copy was delivered in good time and in excellent condition. The text is a little small for us but that's a personal preference.

First read this when I was a kid. On the last read I was able to follow the emotional aspect of the story. Orwell does a great job explaining how systems of control are implemented. I recommend this to someone whom even is not interested in politics or government. Great psychological thriller. End of Part II is just heartbreaking.

Classic book, recommend you give it a least a good read
