Does anyone know if Magna Pull will work thru 1" thick fiberglass. On my boat I want to pull a small rope in-the-blind under a deck.

Yes if you're using the included magnetic bullet it will work through 1" thick fiberglass. But if you are trying to use the included jack chain no I don't believe it will work.

I was unable to play any Magnepull site videos. Titles refer to wall pulls. Can it be used to pull across a ceiling from below? (No crawl space.)

I used it to pull electrical wiring for recessed lighting across a drywall ceiling without any issues. Its virtually the identical process as pulling with a wall - except you're doing it above your head. However, it will depend on how your ceiling joists are set up. You can only pull in the wiring in the same direction that the ceiling joints run. I pulled in the 13 inch area between the joists and in the same direction and it worked fine.

I have to pull @ 20ft of flat utp patch cord under a short shag carpet. i'm concerned about how strong this magnet actually is. can someone comment..

This magnet is impressively strong! Obviously it was made to pull cable through walls not carpet but I think you should have no problems pulling through carpet.

i guess i won't be able to use it across a wall with wall studs?

U can use this tool vertically. If u need to fish a wall horizontally u need a long flexible drill bit to drill holes in each stud
