Scent is unappealing but it gets the job done
I've been using shampoo and conditioner bars for years now. I've tried Ethique, JR Liggetts, HiBAR, Trader Joes, and now this. They are all generally the same aside from the shape, scent and volume. They all require some patience to apply to long hair and they all start to crumble or become difficult to work with once they get very small and thin. Given my experience and how similar they all are, I now concentrate on the value for the volume. This conditioner bar is a good value but it has a strong scent that I didn't anticipate. I use the peppermint shampoo bar from Trader Joe's to wash my hair and the scent is strong but more natural so it doesn't bother me. This conditioning bar smells like perfume. If you're sensitive to perfumes like I am, you might scrunch up your nose at this when you first unpack it and the first few times you use it. The scent has since dissipated and it's tolerable to use. Fortunately it isn't too strong on your hair but I do smell it if I press my hair to my nose. Other than that it does a good job moisturizing and it's easy to work with. The technique i use to apply it is the same I use for any bar, though I usually need more water in the conditioning phase because they don't lather the way the shampoo bars do. I carefully twist my hair to release as much water as possible and then I run this along my hair, starting with the ends. I usually run it under the shower head quickly to make it a little easier to work with. I always apply to my hair using the thinner side and not the broad flat surface. Otherwise you'll wind up with a thin bar early on and it will break into pieces. I've tried sticking the pieces together to form a lump and it's not the way you want to go. When it gets really small I try to lather in my hands or stick it to a new bar but it doesn't bond that well.

Worked Great on My Dry, Frizzy Hair!
I was a little leery to try this but am really trying to cut down on plastics so gave it a try and am very impressed! I have very thick, frizzy hair that drys out easily, so I really need a good moisturizing conditioner, and this bar really works well! It takes a little effort to get it lathered in but worth it! I will definitely be ordering this again!

Awesome for curls and skin
I have VERY sensitive skin and many allergies. With fine curly/wavy hair. My curls and skin like this. It's a great deep moisturizing conditioner. It's works off the bar nicely, while still lasting longer than I expected (normally when it works off the bar so nicely, the bar disappears really fast). It's lasted several months, now.My hair is soft, and not oily after use.

I like some of this products attributes
I looked into bar-conditioner after starting with bar-shampoo, and this is great! Yay to fewer bottles/plastic for this aspect of my life. I love that it was available on Subscribe & Save.editted to add - Now coming to the last of this bar's life (after several months) I don't love its shape as it is thinning out. It is slightly concaved on one side, which does (maybe) make it easier to run along your head/hair, as the instructions say. But the shape also means that part wears out first, and it breaks into little pieces which are hard to get use from.

Ditch the bottle
After trying a couple of different types of conditioning bars, I like this the best. It lathers up quick and doesn’t leave my hair too slippery. It keeps my hair from drying out. Isn’t that the point?

A Decent, Eco-Friendly Option
This product smells great, almost like lime or lemongrass. It takes a bit of work to get the product into the hair (leaves a lot of suds in the tub). With enough product in the hair, it feels silky like a normal bottled conditioner, and it rinses out pretty thoroughly. Once rinsed, that silky smoothness sort of goes away. It detangles a bit, but not as well as a traditional conditioner. Once the hair is dry, it does feel soft, and the scent is almost completely gone. If one wants to go a more natural route with less plastic waste, this is a decent option.

Worked okay but not great
I traveled for three months using this bar. It did not function as well as desired but it did work.
