So say you have a bunch of industrial control and alarm panels that absolutely need an RS-422/482 serial interface to allow you to program them. Say the original vendor wants to set up a contract for many MANY monies to come out and do that for you. As I've said before - nu-uh. You spin up one of these babies, slap it into a laptop, add a couple of connectors, and as they say Bob's your uncle! Worked great. Came with software I never bothered to install. Got the job done. Sittin' there waiting for another ICS to program...

I have bought 3 of these and will buy more when needed. It uses the FTDI chip so the driver is available as a standard Windows 10 download. There are indicator light to show when there is transmit and receive activity. The kit also includes a screw terminal adapter. A great device all around.

Needed to test an ASCII laser sensor before connecting to PLC. The sensor required a separate 24V power supply in addition to RS422 4-wire connections. Device worked perfectly, the RX\TX light indicators were very useful when first connecting the device to determine correct wiring; the labelled terminals also a nice sanity check. No problem installing the drivers in windows 10 1809.
