My husband put together a gate for my porch and this kit allowed for me to have a barn door style sliding gate which matches the look I was going for with my porch. It’s functional, perfect fit, easy to install for the most part, and the quality is unmatched. You definitely get the most value for your money with this one.

I will tell you the directions where rubbish. We needed a gate that would cover a 76” gap. The directions basically give you primitive directions for a much smaller gap. Our gate is 98” and 36 tall without the 4” wheels. We originally bought two kits. We modified the directions and ended up only using one. I love our gate! The hardware works perfectly. We bought a different latch to lock it. This kit is a guide in my opinion. Tells you one way to make a gate but the possibilities are endless. We left sufficient overlap on each side when closed so that the gate didn’t swing when closed. Because ours was so long we added additional support in the center. The corner brackets, wheels etc are well made and work well. The guides are sturdy. Overall I love it. It takes planning, and common sense not to end your gate without overlap on both sides. I used a Kreg Jig to secure the corners. If you do this be careful the placement doesn’t interfere with the screws that came in the kit.

Great Gate Kit but several design flaws and incomplete description (designed for use with Vertical not Horizontal style rails). Nice gate kit and I was able to make it work. However, it took some creative engineering, modification and a lot of time to adapt it to my needs by modifying one of the guide rail pieces (J) and extending it with an unused plate (H). As other reviewers point out, this gate kit was built for vertical style rails and not intended for horizontal style rails (note in my pics: both top and bottom rails are horizontal). A few adjustments to this kit would make it more easily adaptable to multiple applications ( e.g. adjustable guide plates "I", "J") Pro's • Nice heavy hardware • Looks nice • Provides a complete gate build kit (if compatible) Cons • Incomplete description: Should be highlighted that this kit is intended for vertical rails and configured for this specific application. (easily fixed by making the attachment guides position adjustable). • Design flaws: Wheel attachment screws are recessed under the wheel and virtually impossible to reach (easily fixed if screw mounting holes are moved out 1/2" from under wheel) • Instructions could be better. • A few adjustments to this kit would make it more easily adaptable to multiple applications ( e.g. adjustable guide plates "I", "J")
