WOW! It's Night-time: A First Book of Animals

Lovely book for my 19 month old who loves owls.

Great story. I love the series. Unfortunately however, the writing is dark on dark pictures. So not the best when you're reading in a dimly lit room for bedtime, which is the time of day you generally read a bedtime story! That's only for our purpose those, fine every other time of day!

Great book, 2 year old loves it. The only thing is that the writing is dark on some pages, therefor hard to read in the dark.

I received this book for free but this is my honest review. My 1 year old twins love this book! They love animals so this was an instant winner for us. The illustrations are lovely and I love the fun introduction of colours. Lovely book.

My 4 yo grandson is afraid of owls for some reason so I got this book for us to read. A lovely gentle story that he enjoyed and "read" after a few goes.

My little girl loves this book and asks for 'wow wow' every night before bed. I do however wish the illustrations were a little more child friendly? I find them too small and unclear for children to recognise the animals.

Lots of animals and counting. And nice to revisit this owl after she fell in love with it in WOW! Said the Owl

Love Tim Hopgoods other books, this feels a bit forced, the theme is counting (though there is already his ‘tip tap went the crab’ for counting which is MUCH better) but it’s not very obvious and I didn’t even notice until we reached the last page, a theme of maybe animal habitats or night sounds would have made more sense and added more diversity to the collection of books.Lots of pages with black text on dark blue/purple backgrounds mean reading this book in any kind of dimmed light at bedtime is very difficult.It’s not a terrible book but we’d pick the original WOW said the owl/ Tip Tap/ Hooray for Hoppy etc over this any day of the week.
