So far so good. Fit 5888uv with 0 issuesHard plastic and metal construction. Some reviews mention a little flimsy and I see how that could be. I used an extension cable for microphone so it's not pulling on head unit. Time will tell with adhesive. Will update if anything changes. will buy again for my next uv8882. (Will need one for ham shack)

The bracket that holds the head fits perfectly. Just the mounting bracket thats wonky. Its held together by a single screw that constantly loosens up, and the adhesive on the bottom isnt very stong necessitating you use the screw holes to screw in the backet. Which isnt ideal for leased cars or cars you want to resell. There could be improvements but it does its job.

If you want the single screw from getting loose, add a lock washer under the head of the radio head mounting screw. Still a good mount. Holds up on my Can Am Ryker.

You need this!! If you’re installing your head unit away from base, then this is your go to part! It fits perfect in my dash try. But you can basically mount anywhere and it’ll be secure.

Good product let me detach my radio's faceplate and use Cat5 cable to put the radio under the car seat in the car, Im use the other one in the house to keep from stacking radios too high just have the radio faceplate out,I do clip a bit of plastic off the side bottom to run the cat 5 cable in that way instead of through the back.
