I'd research extensively and found this to be perfect! Loved the the wide opening (possibly the widest in the market) and just enough depth to hold about a bowl of hot food. When I pre-heat the bowl with hot water for 5 minutes and warm the food hot enough, my daughter complained that the food was actually too hot during lunch. Prepare the hot lunch in the morning around 8 and lunch was at 11.30, so the food was steaming hot or (if I don't preheat the container) just hot enough to have a warm lunch meal. No issue with leaking. I was concerned about the difficulty of closing the lid (like some previous post) but I did NOT have any issue at all; my daughter had no issue either. Perfect size for a small hot lunch for kids school. Will definitely buy again!

I purchased 2 other kinds of this item (and returned them) before I found this. This is what I’m looking for: keeps something warm (doesn’t need to be hot, just warm enough to be eaten at like 11 am), and easy for a 5 yr old to open. The other ones I purchased I realized were twist off and quite hard to open. And both of those were not warm at 11 am!! I was shocked when this thing worked bc of my prior experience with the other 2 kinds. I have not tested the cold. Only the hot. Because that’s all I wanted it for. I’m so happy with this purchase. I would like to add that I boiled water before hand (bc I was already making tea) and put the boiling water in it and let it sit for a bit. Then opened it up, poured out the water, then put the hot food in it. This was like 7 am. By 11, I took it out and felt it and it was still warm! A success! I really hope my review goes with the product - Arctic zone leak proof thermal vacuum hot cold container. Bc I hate when I read a review and it’s like “best hair product ever” for like a rug or something.

My 2nd grader loves this. The trick to open and close is to snap the opposite side tabs at the same time to keep the lid flat at all times. Just close the tab at the 12 and 6 o’clock position together, then 3 and 9 o’clock. Same with opening.

We send our kids with lunch so they don't eat the junk offered at school. This keeps their lunch nice and warm. To test it out I put hot water from the Keurig in them at 6:30 pm. The water was actually still somewhat warm at 6:30 am! The kids can get them open but they are really hard to close.
